Former Altrincham FC Youth striker, Astley Mulholland (right), has signed Conference North forms for the club and becomes the 17th member of the playing sqaud for 2011-12. Astley was a leading player in Alty Youth's 2005-06 side and also played for Altrincham Reserves before they were disbanded. More recently, Astley (23) was leading scorer for Flixton in the Vodkat (NW Counties) Premier Division last season, hitting more than 40 goals. This led to interest from league clubs including Carlisle United and Crewe Alexandra, as well as Kidderminster Harriers in the BSB Premier and an unnamed Belgian club. Earlier his non-League career had included spells at Abbey Hey and Ashton United.

Good news if we only have two strikers

At last. Welcome Astley, it's great to see one of former youth players making the grade. I hope you go on to have a great career with Alty. :)
-
Welcome Astley, all the very best.

Welcome aboard Astley and good luck. Here's to another 40 goal season! :)
-
Really glad he is on board.
Another young lad we can bring on. He will learn from Reeves and Twiss and I think he will bag a few too!
Good luck Astley

Forgot to say made up with the lad joining us brilliant news

I'm not that convinced by him to be honest, but I don't know who else we could sign on such short notice.
Hope he proved me wrong, starting by bagging a couple tomorrow!
I don't think he'll be anywhere near as prolific as last season but he obviously knows where the net is and deserves a chance to prove himself.
As you said, let's hope he gets off to a flying start tomorrow! :)

Ladies and gentleman of alty, we now introduce something we haven't had in the town for the last year......
Pace!!!!

That's one of the best things about this signing, something I think should get him a lot of support and a great incentive to succeed.

Good luck on your return to us.
They'll come back George, they always do. Sure Deegan, Madeley and Lugsden have a part to play yet.

I think this is a really good signing,am really pleased Astley has FINALLY been given his chance, and i am positive if he given a proper go he will score bags of goals,go on Astley lad.

Very pleased about this, player with a bit of pace and a striker also. Well done Astley and welcome back to the club.
Give him his chance to prove himself, I am sure with Lee and Neil's guidance he will come good. Good potential partnership with Damien also.
