Non Alty - Gareth Whalley

Unaware until today that he is the Manchester City U18s Assistant Manager

Went to the United v City U18 Premier League derby today at Moss Lane. Probably about 800 there to watch a game devoid of excitement. United won 1-0 from a great free kick which was probably the only shot on goal all game (although United had a great long range effort hit the upright).
Plenty of dribbling into trouble and being dispossessed, lots of turning and playing the ball backwards and stroking it around the middle for fun, but United's keeper could have sat in a deckchair and City's keeper made one save all game.

But not moaning at free entry and seeing the bar and snackbar do a bit

Maybe Stockport Alty could comment (once woken up)?

Most boring game you've been to Mick?

Didn't realise that it was Whalley.

Like you say little bits of individual skill but like watching paint dry. Believe City were resting a fair few for the FA Youth Cup final.

Best player on the pitch was United's 5. Heard he's only 16 and was Van Gaal 's first signing.

Hope we made a few £

Judging by the tracking back I've just seen Toure and Navas not do then having Whalley as u18s coach should provide some decent continuity...
