I read the main web site and the Rushden Manager called us Ameteurs :( :( :(
Perhaps we should be playing in the Vase?
Just because we are part time does not mean we can't have half decent players?
The fact also that we have lost twice there and apparently played ineptly does'nt give them the right to win every game against us as he implies.
It makes the fact that we won even sweeter ;D ;D ;D
Our Ameteurs were fitter and more determined on the day against full tme professionals. Ha! ;D ;D
Once again well done boys ;D ;D ;D
PS They also appear to be in alot of debt.

There are professional clubs which are run in an unprofessional way.....
there are non professional clubs run in a professional way!!!
I know which I'd prefer!
-
Fully agree, it annoys me when we never get any credit.
I am a proud Alty supporter and I am not ashamed to tell anybody anywhere who I support.
Come on Alty ;D ;D

Very Good Point !!.
I wouldn't listen to what Mr Westley has to say, I've never been a big fan of his at all !!!
-
What a suprise! Another full-time side who can't take it up her! I just can't help wondering if all these managers read each others comments and realise they're all banging the same pointless drum. Surely its obvious that its not just pure luck that we're holding our own after nearly 70 games back in the conference?
Let them eat cake, in the bottom 4!

I would settle for being called anything and beating a team whose wage budget is probably 5 times more than ours.
These managers just need to look closer to home. I know if Alty were full time I would be annoyed at getting beat by part time clubs. Certainly worth all that extra money and days training. ;D
Ohh Nasty Altrincham. Has Westly just actually made his team look worse then be belittling us ?
With all respect to Altrincham's display in this game, in all honesty Diamonds should not be losing to part-time teams.
Correct - But you did lose

"With all respect to Altrincham's display in this game, in all honesty Diamonds should not be losing to part-time teams. So what's the point in working all week as 'full-time' professionals if you can't match the amateurs when it counts?
WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY, WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY

I wouldnt take any notice of a maneger on such a downward spiral, lets se how far his negativety gets him this season!
-
Problem is he has loads of money and hence why he will do ok, and the reason why he got the job. Quite easy to get managemet vacancies when you say you'll use your own money !
-
Amateurs?!!! Ha !!!
We cant even spell the word !!! ;)
-
He bought the job. He plays Football Manager 2006 with real players. He is not very good at it. That is all.
-
Didn't Gerry Berman try that ? "He plays Football Manager 2006 with real players"
-
if that was the case me thinks id have a go, 4 promotions in a row! oh yeah!!! lol don't mention the relegation in the first season though, tough times!
-
Although I don't like him, I'm sticking up for Westley
You have to remember that these quotes are often collected straight after the final whistle and I would imagine it is very difficult to contain the anger after a performance like that. People say what they feel and it is not always wise or politically correct to do so.
He is effectively slagging his own players.
He is saying that his full time team on decent money; with no early morning starts, with plenty of rest, training time after breakfast rather than after work, all day access to physio etc, should beat a part time club. Maybe he is correct, otherwise why do we sing 'part time etc' when we beat a full time club.
The mistake he made of course is the reference to amateurs (but then again amateurs have won olympic golds and golf opens so amatuer does mean crap)
Any here's to beating another full time club away from home in the near future

I may be wrong, but from my reading of the article, it is the reporter and not Graham Westley who has made these comments.
Not that that would excuse such a comment from the reporter!
