There's another new addition to the squad. Details on the club's official website now.
-
Sounds a potentially good signing, but are we getting a little top heavy up front?
-
All clubs need 4 striker options, this takes us up to four options up front.
-
Mooney, Ceesay, Hulme, Peers, Hancock, Clayton, Peers, Kosylo for 4 positions, but only 6 (not including Ringo and Moult covering) to cover the back 4 and only 3 for centre mid.
-
We’ve long needed more attacking options on the bench (it’s often been Peers and little else) so we can try something different if it’s not going our way.
-
Another good signing
-
I'd be inclined to trust our consistently successful management team when it comes to squad building to be honest.
-
While I agree we need another central midfielder, it’s worth remembering the versatility of some of our players.
Mullarkey was due to play in midfield if it wasn’t for the postponement at Spennymoor.
Moult can play centre half as we know.
Richman can play full back as we know.
Hancock’s strength and workrate means he could probably fill in at 8.
Dens could fill in at 8 if we were desperate.
It’s not ideal but there are options there.
-
Any idea on how short/long a short term deal is?
-
Anyway, welcome Max. He seemed a great lad and all being well he’ll have a quality stint here then get snapped up, moving back towards where he obviously has the ability to be.
-
Highly rated as a youngster. Looked confident and some pace.
Good luck and it is nice hearing that players are contacting and wanting to play for Alty.
Proper buzz being an Alty supporter at present.
-
Now, this one could be a very interesting signing. Good luck Max at Alty Max.
-
So excited to see this lad play, if he gets firing he has the potential to tear this league to shreds and with all the other class forwards we have, we certainly must be up there in the league in terms of attack. A couple more defensive signing and this season is looking very, very promising.
-
Signings like this & Kosylo are really promising. For the first time in years it feels like we are going in the National to try & attack it rather than tread water. A fascinating season in prospect.

We will not just be making up the numbers this season. But time will tell, all too early to predict where we will finish, but it is looking very promising for an interesting season and many a shout of "Part time and we're proud of it" and "do you practice that all week".

I’d like us to leave all that stuff in past, just my opinion like. But a new air of forward thinking professionalism should go right through the club, supporters included. That small time siege mentality stuff was great when we were hanging on for dear life. Not any more, we aren’t that yo yo outfit anymore.
-
Not getting carried away with these signings until they show us they are better than the excellent lads who have served us so well theze past 3 years.
Max will have to be pretty good to challenge our main man Jordan.

100%. That chant & mentality summed us up perfectly in the Heathcote era but we can see on and off the pitch the club is looking to move forward & going full time & being a serious competitor in the National League must be part of that.

We may be, strictly speaking, a part time club, but the mentality and the outlook of the club (from top to bottom) looks full time to me with the level of professionalism and the attitude of the players, management and board.
