Great win today but we still need to strengthen. especially in defence.

Bob, I know we are not capable of doing the modern day equivalent of signing Johnson, Rogers, Bailey, Howard, Whitbread, Wilson, Barrow...I am talking about 1 or perhaps 2 players per season

I am saying that it is less risky to go for a proven part time player (Walshaw, Boshell) than a player making the transition from FT to PT (Cavanagh, Gillespie, Griffith).  And our money (even if a little more) would be better spent at a lower risk in this way.

There will probably be a slight increase in outgoings but a greater chance in a player hitting the ground running.

And of course if we do have a cup run, we can buy someone in the Jan transfer window
