Hello Alty fans, gashead (Bristol Rovers fan ) here.First of all many congrats on your promotion from the conny north last season, always the most nerve wracking way to do it through the play-offs,but ultimately the best feeling ever! What are your hopes and expectations for this season? Are you happy with your summer recruitment or do you reckon you might still be a bit short in quality or quantity?we are very much short in numbers right now and although the bookies have us down as favourites, you won't find many of our fans backing us and the feeling amongst a fair few is we haven't even bottomed out yet!Cant make the trip to your place next week, but on behalf of others going is there a popular watering hole of choice near the ground that caters for away fans?(shirters mainly,no yobs).Any recommendations for a decent takeaway or good scram wagon in the locale? Nosy sod me,seriously though I have been tasked with garnering useful info on our upcoming opponents and also to invite anyone who's up for a bit of banter and info on our club to register on the gaschat forum (link below).I am one of the moderating team on there and I guarantee you safe passage and a warm welcome! Were a pretty happy lot in general and establishing some links with like minded football fans is one of our remits to fully integrate with clubs and fans in the Vanarama conference (yuk)this season.
Hope you have a good season ladies and gents.link is below - dip your toes in !

Hello, the king George pub is just up from the away end turnstiles and away fan friendly.

We are currently in the process of building a new social club so unfortunately rovers fans won't be able to get a drink in the ground itself.
The best real ale pubs in town are

There's a huge a diverse range of eateries in the town centre. Town centre approx 10 minute walk from the stadium.

And Barney's Fish & Chips (aka The Robins' Retreat) and Mr Yung's Contonese take away opposite the ground.

The chippy is now called the Good Catch and is top quality. The Chinese won't be open till after the game.

Excellent info there chaps, thankyou.like the vast majority of fans on an away trip it's all about food, drink and making a good day of it.A good game which ends with a point or three in your own sides favour is still the icing on top of the cake though of course.Good luck Alty fans and sorry I cant call you by your given nickname as it is the same as our charming across town rivals and the name sticks in the throat of all gasheads worthy of the name!
