Boreham Wood Match Thread
« on: February 14, 2022, 10:31:32 AM »

As we all know a really tough midweek fixture, but we'll be buoyed with the super win at the weekend.

I can see Shaun being rested with maybe Morgan coming back in if fit, otherwise unchanged.

As of now would take a draw.

After the trouncing they got at Wrexham over the weekend and being knocked out of the trophy as a result, I expect they will all be fighting for their places in the team to play Everton in the FA Cup.
I'm sure their manager will have put them all on notice in this respect.
In light of this I'm fearing the worst for us.
A point there would be fantastic but the real game we need to win is the one against Weymouth on Saturday so as long as we put in a shift and keep the positive vibe around the club so we can go into that one positively, I'll be happy.

PS. If possible, I'd like to see the back four play together again for a bit of continuity.

Definitely the same back 4.

BW may well beat us, but they are not big scorers so it will probably be tighter than many expect.

I'm just praying there are no more injuries for we all know that the big one is on Saturday.

Or pulling out of 50/50 tackles

I'd settle for a waterlogged pitch.

Definitely a good time to play them in my opinion - tough game, but would be great to bring home a point if we can.

The only decisions are in the back 4. Mullarky the  only gaurenteed starter.

Horrible looking fixture imho, defo snatch your hand off for a point.

I'd take no yellows, reds or injuries. Not sure we  should play our strongest team. We need best available eleven for Saturday.

This is Alty, we can go to The Wood and win, lets worry about Saturday on Wednesday.

I'm not a fan of this "free Shot" stuff, I've seen Alty for 30 years anything is possible.

My concern is that when we have played on Tuesday this season we've struggled to put a shift in on the following Saturday. It should be a long enough recovery time but it seems not to be for some reason.

Love a point, and I think we're capable of getting one.

1 1.

Then Saturday...

We have to go there and play our best team and have a go at them. We’re not the same team when we sit back.

I’m sure Parky will get them fired up.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we came away with a point.

Borehamwood 1-1 Alty.

It would be a good time for Hulme to chip in with a goal.
Wouldn't put it past him to do just that.

Weymouth also play tomorrow night & then have the big trek up to our place for Saturday & i assume are also part time so that really should be less of a factor on Saturday.

Believe they went full time this season.
