Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Guiseley Match Thread

I wasn't present at yesterday's game and, consequently, didn't witness the following incident but this chance looks virtually impossible not to bury in the back of the net.

What happened? Were there echoes of Danny McGoona's infamous miss at Stalybridge Celtic back in March 1997?!

I had to stop the car at least twice on the way home from that. Anger needed venting.

Can something be a vegan pie? Surely it can only be a pie suitable for vegans. A vegan pie  would probably not be suitable for vegans at all.

😀

The Morroccan pie looks good from here. Just unsure of my next trip to Alty.

I like Guiseley. Decent place, never any bother. Yeah. Good club.
I'll like it even better when we eventually manage to win there !

There is that...

Great 👍esult. That could have gone wrong had they scored first. Well done Alty.

I am going to argue a technicality - if we are looking at the most influential player in each position over the decade, I nominate Greg Wilkinson to sit on the bench

He was the most influential player for about one minute  ;D

...but what a minute...

About 1/3 of the gate was Alty?

Top turnout.

Chris Young
or that guy who couldn't speak English ( I can't remember his name ).

I think his name was FABIO BASSANGUE

Quality seventeen minute Alty career. He epitomizes how crud that time was.

No matter your 11 duffers, they're all managed by Neil Young.

I would have preferred them to have stayed at our level so we fight them on equal (financial) terms!

Spot on, but kind of begs the question:  What is a realistic level for us going forward after a decade (or more) of struggling to make any mark at all in the National League (Conference)?

Good question!i

I think we can be good enough to make it ti mid table National league respectability if we can keep our infrastructure together and a few sensible signings.
for

Our finances would need a big boost to sustain national footy.

Local lads looking for a reliable income, paid each month on time... I know next to nothing about their squad and am wondering if there is a bit of talent we could use for the rest of the season.

On the other hand Macc have a habit of escaping from grim situations.

Kings Lynn are proving themselves genuine title contenders, however I stand by my belief that York will.go up. Quite feasible that both these clubs will.

We will fall just shortly playoffs - our inconsistency and lack of away wins will take their toll.

Taking nine points from nine could be the catalyst to push us into the playoffs.

Having seen the highlights of the Southport game (I was there) and the space we found, the quality of the goals and chances created in the second half I am confident of a win.

The first goal is crucial, if we score that they'll have to be more open and vulnerable. I

Come on the red and whites.
