what a nice person jimmy hill is I hope not all of you are like him
we showed you how to play away from home thats why we were frustrating
our average turnout is nearly 1000 and on the way up not bad as we are a part time team in a Village of only 3000 people
but to say he would be happy for us to go bust is out of order >:(
and I as a true football fan wish you good luck with the rest of the season

I have to say in terms of fitness and organisation if they manage that off 2 nights a week then I'm a Dutchman. Bankrolled. There's no romance in their story.

H1, you play to your strengths, and all your lads look 6'2"+

Very committed, and the throws are a threat ala Stoke.

Having said that I think we had just as many shots on target and your goalie made a few good saves. Good luck too you.

Onto the Cups then, I wouldn't write Wrexham on Tuesday off, you get a few quid for winning Setanta Shield matches so it's important we give it a good go. I saw Luton lose 3-0 on the Championship this morning, 8 lads under 21 in their starting XI apparently including 6 teenagers. I think we have a sniff next Saturday definitely.

I loved this eternally optimistic post - it's as if we have 21 fit players to pick from ;)

You seem to be misunderstanding my point.

I really don't care what happens to Histon, I just want to make sure that I'm never subjected to a game of anti-football again.

I would be equally happy for Histon to take the Football League by storm, or for them to return to the Cambridge Cereal Farmers Combination League. As long as it results in Altrincham never having to play Histon again then I am happy.

Histon going bust will simply be a means to a glorious end.

Maybe we should just let the 2 youth teams play each other, even it up. ;)

Going back to Histon...

I overheard someone describing the forward who ran back for every throw in we had, and stood within the law of the thrower, looked like an American Quarterback. The guy was about 7ft with HUGE frame, not in the overweight sense.

You could have been fooled into thinking it was a game of American Football, just needed the ball !

Horrible, horrible game to watch, must be horrible to play in, but you just have to give them credit for doing what they do, and do it well !

Next time, CAN WE PLAY THE FOOKING BALL ON THE FLOOR !!!!!!!!!

If you are, indeed, "a true football fan", then what on earth are you doing watching Histon?

Any resemblance between Histon and entertaining football is entirely coincidental.

I have no desire whatsoever for Histon to go bust.

I was merely expressing an opinion about your team's 'style' (or rather lack of it) of play.

What your management team and players choose to do is undeniably effective and it's obvious that Altrincham struggle to counteract it but please don't ever call it entertaining!

Yes i am,seems a strange sub to make unless its to rest Stu.Just been back reading BBC thread wonder if Stu got a knock just before HT

I had walked round to just behind stuarts goal as the HT whistle went and Stu jogged gingerly towards the tunnel presumed he might be back in the second half or be given 10 mins too see how it is but should fingers crossed be able to play luton because ralphy is likely to play tuesday no big guns on tuesday i would presume.

who else are we going to play?
