anybody else think its ironic that he scored a free kick against halifax that sent us on our way to a point there and from the way we played after that it could have been sending us on our way to a win. Just think where we could have been, and that point there gave us a fighting chance at the end of a season. ;)

having said that i hope he never darkens a decent clubs doorway again.

Vics anyone  :D

i reckon GH has left it in the hands of val (injuries etc) and tinson(age).

the worrying thing there being he thinks scotty and aspinall can do a job at bsp level.

although swap possibly scotty for val therefore leaving it in his hands and GH still thinking val can do a good job at BSP level, which i think he could injuries permitting.

Perhaps Scott and Aspinall will be our central midfield partnership next season after their impressive display against Vics last Boxing Day?

He was extremely successful at Northwich and their fans thought he was fantastic. I heard that Jimmy Quinn wanted to sign him last summer aswell so he had obviously seen something he liked at Northwich. I'm sure he could be a good player if what you need is someone with good technique and who can pass a ball well, but he had no passion or commitment and just wasn't what we needed.

Agree with Bighairedmike about the two players in question being Val and Tinno. I actually hope Tinno stays, because I believe he still has something to offer the club, but poor Val is just out injured too much. Neither Scotty nor Aza are good enough for BSP level, but I can appreciate it must be difficult for GH to release such hard working and loyal players. Many thanks to the 3 players already released (especially Pat) for their efforts at Alty.

Any manager worth his salt has to be strong enough to make big decisions like this. Scotty and Aza are great people and there is no doubt in my mind that they would understand the club's needs over their own. In a league in which we have fallen one point short (one goal in truth) of safety two years running it is crystal clear how little margin for error there is. It is time to abandon the sentimental ways and clear the decks a bit to enable some better players to come in.
