Cant see too many changes tbh.
Gould
Mullarkey. Cooper. Baines. Brockbank
Lundstram. Osbourne
Bennett. Conn-Clarke. Colclough
Hulme
If we do require a goal with 20 mins to go i hope the sybs are made earlier than Saturday. And please let Sami be one if them.
Bromley 2-1 Alty (Mullarkey)
-
I should certainly expect the Welsh FA have got their
act together and sent the documentation for Olly Byrne by now.
If so I expect he would be in goal.
I can’t believe in this day and age and given the technology that this hadn’t been done ages ago.
There again we are talking about Wales.

Think this maybe the line-up and agree over subs. Hopefully Ollie has International clearance now
-
Think Jones will be fit and needs games. Assuming Barrows is still out and Byrne not cleared to play.
Gould
Roxburg/Jackson Mullarkey Jones Baines
Lundstram. Osbourne
Bennett Conn-Clarke Colclough

Would like to see Sami be given 30 mins maybe for Con-Clarke and move Bennett into the n.10 position.

Why are we assuming the Byrne debacle is down to the Welsh FA?
-
I think they have to sanction the international clearance and they've been dragging their feet haven't they?
-
Why are we assuming the Byrne debacle is down to the Welsh FA?
Because Olly Byrne told me that the Welsh FA hadn’t sanctioned his documentation

Full marks for the best answer! 👍

I’m sure the club would have received the documents by now in fairness

Is it border control at Chester?

I'll ask around, but I don't think so 🤔

Call me old fashioned, however I don't think it's fair to write off Liam Brockbank after one competitive fixture.
Also we're far more likely to see Lundstram at right back compared to those suggestions - with Pringle coming into the midfield.

Can't leave Lundstram out of CM, we need his legs, especially now we've lost Marriott's energy.
Only could play Pringle if we had 3 in there or him as a No.10.

The Bromley geezers vs the Alty teasers
-
Always a big, beefy unit these lot. Huge test for Brockbank, Bennett, Conn-Clarke. Hope it isn’t a “welcome to big school” scenario, but we won’t know unless we see. Their opening day defeat to Wealdstone makes for encouraging reading.
Would love a sneaky point.
-
Do we know anything about Jones' injury? Is he definitely available?
-
I fancy us to get something out of this one. I'm going for another 1-1.
PS. (Hope it's better than that obviously!)

It's not necessarily what I think myself, but yes I think Lundstram would be there before either of Jackson (is he fit?) or Roxburgh (is he ready?) would be.
We finished the game that way last week and both Lundstram / Pringle put in a good shift in their respective positions (albeit against ten men).
If Jones is fit, then I expect Toby will start there again.
-
Assuming jones is fit. We have full backs that clearly aren't really fullbacks on either side.Thought brockbank looked better going forward. I know this isn't how we will start but I'd like to see.this team given a run

Never an easy task going to Bromley, especially in this crazy heat.
It would be nice to come away with a point, but to do that we must start off on the front foot and be decisive from the off otherwise the game will be over in a heartbeat.
I’m sure last Saturday’s stuttering first 20 mins was down to first day nerves etc.
I will go with a 2-2 draw Coco & CCC..
-
We've certainly got the personnel for three at the back and wing backs - however often the reality is that they're harder to implement than they actually look.
Funnily enough, Bromley are struggling with theirs at the moment (going off their fans forum) with most wanting to see a return to the 442 which had served them well.
I'm sure we will have done our research on this, - attacking the space between the centre back and wing back etc - they'll definitely be vulnerable.
The manager also seems to play Cheek at No10 which is extremely odd on the face of it.
-
What's the issue with the clearance for Ollie Byrne?
-
Its clear its an issue. Tin pot
-
What a result with Jordon in goal for most of the second half.
Well done lads on an excellent result away from home on any day, especially considering the circumstances
-
Well done lads, great result considering. JH what a star.
ps What is happening with Ollie's registration ? I know its difficult to email slate, but c'mon.

When in Wales put your watch back 10 years
-
I have to say, I have rarely been prouder of an Alty result; must have played almost 40 minutes with no recognised keeper.
-
That's a great result.
Full marks to the team... and the Alty fans who made the trip.
On to Maidenhead. Let's hope we can do even better!
Come on you Super Robins 👍 🇦🇹 🏆
-
If Gould has to go through a concussion protocol, who's in goal on Tuesday night?
This delay in getting Ollie sorted out is ludicrous.
-
it was another great result,i feared the worse when gould got injured

That keeper on loan at Alsager? An emergency signing (not Ian Senior presumably😎) ?
Seriously, why is the Byrne business taking longer than my passport? The whole thing's ludicrous.
-
Have the Welsh FA given any indication when they will get round to dealing with this matter? Surely must be some sort of timeframe in place. This could easily have cost us a point although Jordan would probably disagree. Perhaps Ollie Byrne could change his name by deed poll to Gareth Bale.
-
One of the features of the game is that Charles-Cook was busier than Gould and Hulme put together., and had to make some good saves We were the better team until Matt Gould's unfortunate injury, and then end up being very happy to get a point, although we still had chances late on.
Who will be in goal on Tuesday against a Maidenhead team who got a very good result today? Hopefully, Ollie Byrne's clearance will be expedited, but I am not sure if we would plunge Ryan Forde straight in, if not, and may instead go for a loan signing.
-
We signed Ollie Byrne on June the 26th. That's six weeks ago. Going purely on gut instinct this isn't a simple admin oversight in my view, there's something else amiss here.
I had a quick look at the fa website, no guidance as to how long it should take but I did come across a story about a Reading player who had to wait in excess of 30 days during which time he couldn't play in any game in front of a crowd, BCD only.

Wrexham must have to deal with international clearance via the FA of Wales on quite a regular basis - and I bet it all runs like clockwork for them !

Given the number of clubs that border the two this has to be a fairly routine matter for the FAW. That's why I have a feeling something ain't quite right.

JH in the net, Dinanga up front. Sorted!

I’ve seen Jordan carrying three pints in the CSH and not spilling a drop. Steady pair of hands and a well known goalkeeper training routine.

I must say he did nothing wrong - apart from getting booked by the referee for time-wasting immediately after he had told him to stop wasting time.

There isn’t a goalie alive that isn’t adept at time wasting. Jordon was probably just doing a Tony Thompson

Ah, but a regular goalie like Tony Thompson has the skills to make the time-wasting look a bit less obvious.
-
Some years ago at Aldershot I think it was Richard Acton in goal, every time we got a goal kick he moved it to the other corner of the box. Drove the home support mad!
-
I think the best I've seen (apart from possibly Stuart Coburn at Cambridge) is still Peter Jamieson for Blyth. I remember at one point I threw the ball back to him from the back of the Chequers End (after he had called for the ball back) and he stood stock still as the ball sailed past him within inches of his fingers. The FA really should tweak the rules so that it is an actual bookable offence when keepers take the p.
-
It’s a fine point & all credit to the lads who by the sounds of it could have had all 3. I think with the swift turnaround and another long trip South on Tuesday this is hopefully now where we begin to feel the benefit of being FT in terms of rest & training.
-
I think i heard that after 7 weeks from initial contact you can play a player even if international clearance hasn't come through
-
1 goal in 150 minutes (ill take off the bit without a recognised Goal Keeper) is a worry
-
Yes I agree, but we have also only conceded 1 goal in the same amount of time.
My only minor query is when will see Alex Sami get his chance before he gets cheesed off and leaves without us seeing him play.

Because our CB have been strengthened and weve played midtable sides.
-
Watching the Alty Highlights its a game we should have won, just need better finishing, but we created some good chances on a difficult surface.
Let's hope we either sort Ollie out or can get an emergency loan in for Tuesday.

I wish Flynny would ask the question we want to know, and that is .. What’s happening with the registration of Olly Byrne

In that case, maybe we could have a section on the new shiny new website entitled, Player updates. It would be a change from trying to sell us something.
-
We're hardly likely to be told anything in terms of this situation, since we don't want the opposition to know what we're planning to do.

I think vetted carries negative connotations but topics to cover in the interview are discussed before recording, that's entirely commonplace in any interview, in any industry.
Edit (to add): As it's an official club interview it's going to cover certain things, and steer away from others if it is believed to be in our best interests to do so.
Despite our increased stature in the game we do still have barely any external, regular press interest in the football club, such as a weekly set of questions from Altrincham Today or the Messenger (both of which we have to contribute to ourselves to get coverage) or the Manchester Evening News. External reporters from those outlets would be more inclined to ask the more challenging questions, but what I'm saying is don't expect it from the club (Brian Flynn or John Edwards) - I don't think their job is to put it on Parky in their interviews.
-
I think what people are asking is for the Club to be proactive in keeping the fan base up to date with situations which they know they are concerned about.
Even if it's only to tell us that there's no progress in a certain area (unless that plays into the hands of the opposition of course).
-
When it comes to our playing staff there's often a very fine line between satisfying the curiosity of fans and alerting the opposition of things that they could do without knowing, so I get why some things have to stay quiet. We need to understand the manager's approach to this from a professional football point of view.

You said it much better than I did, Bob, but that's what I meant.

I've interviewed Phil quite a few times and never once been told what I can or can't ask him. As Andrew says, there's a certain tone you're looking to strike given it's a club interview rather than an external journalistic one but the interviews I've done have never been 'vetted' in any way.
