Salisbury threatening to put an injunction on the conference for not giving them another 7 days

June 13, 2014 1:23 pm

Salisbury City FC are facing expulsion from the Conference on Tuesday after the leagues board decided to relegate them today, despite meeting certain financial demands placed on them.

On Friday £75,000 was transferred into the club solicitors client account to meet unpaid debts. The Conference board have also been given assurances that in the next seven days, the funds to meet all outstanding club debts will be paid. However, because of a legal issue in relationship to ownership of the club, the Conference board have decided to throw Salisbury City FC out of the league on Tuesday. It staggers belief that this is a Conference board who were quite happy, along with the FA, to endorse the appointment of Otail Touzar but following forensic investigation by the club to expose him as a fraudster, are now using him as an excuse to throw Salisbury City FC out of the league.

Following legal advice, Salisbury City FC will now consider taking an injunction out on the Conference or taking the case to an FA independent appeal board. It is disappointing that the Conference have failed to give the club a 7 day extension to clear up their financial irregularities and as a result of their imminent action it leaves Salisbury City FC with no choice but to take legal steps to safeguard their future.

No should Salisbury be relegated. Dartford would be saved. If something else happened, tamworth get the next slot

Unfortunately in life, sometimes people who are given an inch, take the p1ss and demand another five miles. Then throw a hissy fit.

If the conference had been consistent, this could have been avoided.

See main website - looks like a bit of backtracking by the Conference already in terms of the form of words used.

Yesterday there was read only access to the Salisbury forum, today there isn't.

I read on there that their facebook page was only for registered users, and they weren't accepting new users.

It may mean nothing, but hey there's nothing like trying to keep things silent.

Not a lot of sympathy for Salisbury I'm afraid aside from the die hard fans.

When they were demoted for the same thing 3-4 years ago they stayed full time and shot back through the leagues to where they were before.

Everyone makes mistakes but to do it again isn't a coincidence for me.  Anyone can run a club like that.

Does the whole world have to stop revolving whilst Salisbury sort themselves out???

A further extension and Dartford would be thinking of suing. This is all down to Strudwick and his cronies.....should have kicked both Hereford and Salisbury out on AGM day as the rulebook clearly stated.

Incidentally why are Salisbury only relegated but Hereford expelled ?

I can only presume that Salisbury's offence is (for whatever reason) judged to be less severe than Hereford's - despite the fact that they are repeat offenders.

Hereford are repeat offenders as int he last few years since Graham Turner left they seem to think PAYE is an overdraft facility rather than a legal requirement...
