Can we not chip in and buy a few more ground sheets ffs, they can’t be that expensive
-
Its all the rain over the weekend that killed us, water table is very high. Frustrating but the weather is dreadful at the moment.
-
I'm first in with 'Run For Your Wife' at the Vaudeville Theatre starring Brian Rix, Dora Bryan and Richard Wattis (Mr Rix's trouser's supplied by Hawker's of Altrincham)
-
Covers aren't the answer in this particular situation. Water will seep under them particularly with a high water table.
I think this problem will need major works to sort out.
-
Gutted. Only solution is an underground drainage system, they often use them at American Football grounds,I can't attach a photo. The pitch is very flat this year without the middle curve.
-
We need a blow up tent

i live at the top of the hill from the ground and it's obvious when it rains how the water heads towards the lowest level around (not exactly rocket science). Unsurprisingly water will collect in an area called Hale Moss. This is not just about water falling on the pitch, its about water collecting from the surrounding areas. I'd be digging narrow trenches (covered over of course) alongside the pitch in the worst affect areas for water to drain into, and pumping it out into the stream that runs past the allotments at the back.

Starting to get worrying now 4 games to re arrange with the prospect of more to follow unless this weather lets up, the only thing in our favour is that everyone is in the same boat

Possibly at a level where season extensions can be applied for.

Does such a process exist?
-
I don’t think so, and believe the evostick have already ruled any talk of that out, or so was mentioned last night

Should be "everyone is in the same ark"!

We could make an enquiry to some industry professionals and see what sort of quote we can get for a full inspection and audit of the pitch. Surely worth having a look at. I wonder if there’s any Premier League funding available.

Rather than drain the ground it might be cheaper to raise the pitch.

And have a moat round it 😂

To be honest I am fed up with this winter, we have had so much rain and cold over the last month, I won't be sorry to see the back of it.
If any of the water boards complain that the reservoir levels are low during the summer I will hit the roof.
Looking forward to spring/summer, and getting back to our normal fixtures. On the upside, our players are getting back to full fitness - I am sure JJ will be back soon too.

The way things are going that boat you refer to could come in handy

Son has just come back from Timperley hockey. Practice abandoned at half past eight due to frozen pitch.
