Another tough game as they seem to have hit some form.

Senior Mularkey Hannigan. Hampson

            Moult.    Pringle

  Mooney.   Kosylo.  Colclough

                     Hancock

Aldershot 1-1Alty (Mooney)

I think that's our best eleven but I'm not sure it's the one we'll see.
For example, I think whitehead will be in there, possibly Peers too.

I'd start Whitehead and bring Pringle on later, but other that, yes.

I'd go with that.

Granted their win against Grimsby was a decent result, but they've beaten two poor teams since (Torquay and Kings Lynn). We're perfectly capable of getting a result, although they won't lack for confidence.

Would like to see that starting 11 but think he will go Whitehead and Moult and one of our prolific number 9's.

Would love to see that front 4 and think it would work. The movement of all 4 would cause mayhem to Aldershot.

City often start games without an established No.9 and it can work.

We've been playing without a 9 since Hulme left😂

I assume by 'prolific' you really mean 'horrific'.

I think the present squad is the best we've had for donkeys years but they're not quite as good as City!
We don't necessarily need another Colin Little (even if there is one!) the goals are being spread around nicely; but we could really use a target man and focal point to hold the ball up who's a danger in the opposition half and we're sadly lacking one.
It's all been said before though by many (including me) on here and we all know Parky and Co must have it on the wishlist.
My twopennoth is that those kind of players are only going to sign for a full time club so we're going to have to wait until (hopefully) next season.

I think this is our strongest XI.

Re: the midfield debate, I've only seen flashes of Whitehead but I know Pringle has been absolutely excellent on occasion, the best person on the pitch - seems to be quite inconsistent but I think a lot is down to fitness combined with the type of game he plays - when he's been taken off after an hour he's often been blowing and seems to fade a fair bit.

Wouldn't be averse to seeing half and half - this seemingly modern world phenomenon of bringing players on to change games, with 85 minutes gone, does my nut in.

I haven't seen enough from Whitehead to suggest he is what we need. Potter certainly isn't up to it and Pringle gives the ball away way too often and is way too lightweight. Our best midfield paring this season has been Furman and Moult.

Everything else is spot on though

Whether Moult and Furman are or aren't our best pairing is irrelevant as Furman's injured

Both Jackson and Furman looked to be okay before the Southend game. Not match fit obviously, but was encouraging to see them both back.

Moult and Furman completely dominated the second half at Dagenham & Redbridge and looked superb together. They're my starting pair if both fit. Comfortably.

I would like to see Furman back in the side if fit.. After last Sat game I’m not sure Pringle will start but would be happy to see him play some part.

Dan Mooney to hopefully start also.

Hope to see us get back to winning ways this weekend

Aldershot 1-2 Alty

We could really do with winning this one and, if we put a shift in, we're fully capable of doing so.
Come on you Supers!

PS. A clean sheet would be a real bonus!

Another comeback from a couple down..

Well done, but it must be a worry as to why we start so poorly and end up chasing games
If we could get the defence right then we would be up there..

People say we haven’t a good striker but thankfully this team can score from all over.

A point away is not to be sneezed at.

Onwards & Upwards

Assuming accurate reporting from Radio Robins, we bossed the first 20 minutes, and battered them for the final 10 minutes.

It's the 70 or so minutes in the middle that are the problem.

We've only recorded two clean sheets in 21 competitive fixtures to date this season.

Might not have a clean sheet for 12, but how long is it since we scored in 17 straight games?

Under Phil we scored in 20 consecutive games in the Northern Premier League after the 0-0 draw at Warrington all the way to the 0-2 defeat at Rushall Olympic (October to March).

The last time we did it in this league was in 1985-6, starting with a 2-0 win over Scarborough on 24th September and finishing on the 15th March with a 1-4 home defeat by Enfield, scoring in 20 consecutive APL games

I remember the 1-4 defeat clearly, by Enfield. We had a few highly contested games over the years with them, when they were around.
Gary Anderson scored our goal, if I remember rightly cutting in from the left wing, and I think the Noel Ashford got a couple for them. Perhaps Cult of somebody else can confirm that for me. I was sat in the main stand for this game, but cannot remember why, think my mum may have been with me.

Some weasel from Enfield in the main stand kept going....yyyeeessss, every time they scored, and he really got on my nerves. Think Gary wound their team up by scoring the first goal. In the knowledge of what has happened to Enfield since, I can at least take satisfaction that the guy in the stand that day is not going .........YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSS, any more!

I saw Leatherhead v Enfield Town earlier this season (like you do) and found myself chatting to a group of Enfield fans of a certain vintage on the station after the game. They remembered our tussles of the 80s well, going so far as to reminisce (rather rudely I thought) over our Wembley Trophy defeat to them. I cheerfully told them how nice it was to be renewing old acquaintances with Wealdstone this year.
