See what can happen if Sinnott Jnr doesn't start.  ;) ;)

That made me chuckle!

Well done youths - good scalp that!

It might be good scalp based upon the fact they never seem to be out of the local media and because their youth team may attract a few who think they are at MUFC.........but is it a big scalp for Altrincham FC Youth based on track record and pedigree ?

Doing my research ahead of the commentary for Radio Robins I noted on their website that their record attendance for an away match (friendly) was 23,000 v Bucheon FC on 18 July 2009 at the Bucheon Sports Complex in South Korea !

I wonder how long it took 23,000 South Koreans to realise that it was not THE Manchester United side they had turned up to watch.

Apart from that they have a great set up down in Moston, great catering and the match was played in the right spirit with some quality football.

If the lads beat Hebburn or Workington in the next round and get a home or local draw afterwards they are definitely worth checking out.

George Heslop for the next England manager

Really glad it went well and really sad I missed  out on getting tickets.. I had a few mates from Shrews who would liked to have attended...

Well done and thanks to those who arranged and helped out to put this on and thanks especially to Roy..
A good piece of news for Alty FC after a sad week with a the antics of Mr Griffith's...

Round it off now lads with 3 points today
Cmon Alty

Unlike yourself I was lucky enough to make the Roy Keane evening and miss today's match.

By all accounts I got the best end of the two.

Gutted we didn't pick up three points today but it sounds like I was lucky to miss out on a poor performance today.

A great evening on Friday and Roy Keane did a great session (s)

Hopefully we are now close to reaching the target of paying off the cost of the Community Sports Hall ?

Hmmmm

A bit dodgy that the whole of the ball was over the line ?

Well done to the Assistant Referee for giving it, he must have had X ray vision to spot that from where he was positioned ?

Talking of Bowerman, can someone please have a word with our kit man John Skelhorn about shortening his shorts.

He spent half the match tucking them in to the top of his underpants so he could look like Glenn Hoddle in the 1980's ?

if he'd spent more time concentrating on the match rather than the length of his shorts, he could well have had a hat trick tonight !

Good game.
Enjoyed talking to some Wigan fans about the old Cheshire League.

Wigan Athletic in the Cheshire League ?

You're showing your age - Isn't it about time you retired ?  ;)

Well the decision to bring Januzai on for one .....

Oh sorry you mean the end of season awards ?

So come on its past midnight and still no confirmation on who won what ?

It was a slow game, and from a photographic perspective, very little of interest came our way.

I had too much time to focus on players, which suggests a general lack of movement, and this was mostly due to both teams not really wanting to close down their opposite number.

Poor match really; I have felt for the past few games that our players have been thinking more about their summer holiday than the game they are playing.

If you thought it was bad trying to photograph it, you should have tried commentating on it for Radio Robins !

No expense spared on the missus !

Hope the rest of you don't get caught up in the roadworks at Newton Abbot on A380

If you are coming down tomorrow you may wish to consider going via A379 from Exeter thro Dawlish and Teignmouth

Excellent as usual. The player trod on Williams foot which explains the way he fell which did look like a dive, this ref does need glasses.

Having just watched the incident, I'd say the referee needs more than just glasses !

I doubt that Mr Flynn's late transfer deadline move would have influenced the final outcome, but well done to all those teams who took part.

A gallant effort and late rally with the pictureboard round saw the Players team finish a creditable tied fifth overall, and second in the battle of the top tables.

Just for the record to officially record bragging rights, the final scores on the doors were

1st - Mike Trebilcock's Hairdryer - 90 points
2nd - Alty TV / Radio Robins - 76 points
3rd - Sea View Tour - 73 points
4th - No Idea - 68 points
Ties 5th - The Players - 64 points
Tied 5th - Pointless - 64 points
7th - Ashley Mowers - 59 points
8th - Heyrose + 1 - 54 points
9th - TASC - 50 points
10th - The Management - 44 points
11th - The Celtics - 42 points
12th - Altrincham Supporters FC -  38 points
13th - Ashley Cricket Club - 37 points
14th - The Lewis Clan - 35 points
15th - George and the Kids - 28 points

A big thank you to all who supported the event.

Special thanks to the Players and Management teams who stayed behind to take part, and we hope that Damien managed to make it back home over the Peninnes before the snow and bad weather closed all the roads.

I'm going for a 2-0 home win and the Alty TV / Radio Robins team to beat The Players, Management and TASC teams in the Question of Sport Quiz in the Community Hall after the match.

You don't have to be the Brain of Sport to take part.

The rounds are

Round 1 - Guess The Year
Round 2 - Tunes With Sporting Connections
Round 3 - 60 Second Round
Round 4 - Mystery Guest Round and
Round 5 - Picture Board Round

In addition to replace the Home or Away Round there will be a 'Joker' where each team can elect to play their Joker before any of the first 4 rounds that will double their score on that round.

Tickets are £5.00 in advance or £6.00 on the night and include a hotpot supper at half time |(in the quiz that is not the match !)

If you'd like take part and reserve a ticket in advance for £5.00 as opposed to £6.00 on the night please PM me on here with confirmation of how many tickets you would like.

There is no limit on the size of teams although a handicap system will be in operation whereby a point will be deducted from the final score for each team member. i.e a team of four has 4 points deducted , a team of eight 8 points deducted etc.

In addition there will be a raffle and other competitions.

Anyone not wishing to take part in the quiz is welcome to come along to lend their support.

Also, who on earth goes to watch Northwich Flixton Villa?

They must really hate their wives.

Not as much as they hate Northwich Vics ?

Many thanks to all those supporters intending to come along to and have reserved tickets for the Question of Sport Quiz Night after Saturday's home game against Torquay.

Four 'celebrity' teams from the Players, Management, Radio Robins/Alty TV and TASC supporters will be battling for bragging rights on who has the best sporting knowledge.

In addition, everyone can participate by entering a team.  There is no limit on the size of the teams (although a handicap system will be in operation !!)

Based on the popular BBC Question of Sport Quiz we have 4 rounds plus a 'picture board' round, plus other competitions and raffle.

Entry Fee is £6.00 an the night or £5.00 if you reserve your tickets in advance and the price includes a Hotpot Supper.

If you are intending to come along and would like to reserve tickets in advance to benefit from the £1 discount please send me a personal message on here or E mail me at paulpsalt@hotmail.co.uk before Saturday.

Tickets will be on sale at the TASC desk before Saturday's home match but the cost then will be £6.00.
