Altrincham FC First Team / Re: crowd on saturday
« on: January 28, 2010, 02:59:44 PM »
It should be a true test of our Play Off place potential.

Any crowd over 1,500 would be a belter so long as the Alty fans make more noise than the Wrexham lot.

C'mon the Alty !!

Perhaps that's why they get such good attendances ?

Cut out spectators policed by cut out Stewards and Policemen?

i despise the premiership.  I didn't move away from it, it ran away from me into the arms of the money men. Souless, dull, humourless, financially inept, tedious, boring, horrible, unwatchable, prawn sandwich supporters, singing areas, funereal atmospheres, give away flags, stupid players, daft boots, thick players, blind managers, rubbish, dull, nasty, devious, expensive, agagaghhhh.

NO NO NO

I'd agree with everything listed with the exception of unwatchable. Although I wouldn't pay £40.00 odd quid or above to attend in person.

Did you know tickets for Wednesday's return leg between United and City are still on open sale at Old Trafford as are the corporate packages !!

That's how disillushioned and overpriced the product is

Need I say more

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Reason to be optimistic ?
« on: January 22, 2010, 03:16:18 PM »
Much as I admire the enthusiasm and optimism generated by the last two results I think we need to take a reality check.

Of the nine games played to date against teams currently above us in the table our record is

Played  9 Won 1 Drawn 2 Lost 6 Goals For 3   Goals Against 11

That aside C'MON YOU BOYS !!!

.................and whilst I'm at it !!

What about that t*****r presently bench warming at the Bernabau who can't get a game.

£100,000 per week not enough to come and play in the Premiership ?

Another example that proves my earlier point.

God it makes me  mad !  >:(      If I had a cat I'd kick it !!

Gary Neville is one of a dying breed.

A one club man devoted to the club he signed for and proud of it.

I remember the days when all clubs has three or four local lads or at worst Scottish Irish or Welsh lads who'd come up through the club reserves and were proud to stay with the club.

Gone are the days when you could hate half the opposition for what they respresented - Take Mike Doyle, Glyn Pardoe and Alan Oakes etc at City or St John, Lawler, Callahan at Liverpool even Best, Styles and Charlton at United.

Nowadays you look at the over paid foreign mercenaries at Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and every other Premier league club and as soon as someone waives a cheque book off they go.

Where's the passion gone these days.

At least Neville is trying his best to keep the passion alive these days by winding up these overpaid, soleless, overrated, pampered, prima donnas.

Be honest  That's why you really hate him !!

Keep up the good work Gary

I hate Mark Lawrensen for not coming out. 'I do like a big man at the back'. I bet you do.

100%.  Come on Mark larenson - out the closet, you'll feel much happier for it.

He's not ? Is he ?   :o

I hope my son who is away at Nottingham uni isn't wasting his valuable revision time on dodgy websites like this ?

 >:(

I have one exam, a week on friday. Its the same topic i did my a level coursework on in which i got an A. Since i have been revising all day today I thought I might as well do something a bit more fun and start a decent discussion on this forum. All work and no play makes Jack a very dull boy.  ;)

Well Jack I'd agree with the all work and no play bit which is exactly why I pop on here intermittentely. And I guess being based in Aberystwyth must make finding things to do difficult.  I went there once - It was closed

Good luck with the exams

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Potential radio coverage of tonights game?
« on: January 19, 2010, 04:30:22 PM »
That is very surprising seeing as two of the members of staff there visit alty regularly. One of them lives across the road to me and goes to most home matches and quite a few away games and the other goes to quite a lot of home games.

The photo's that appear on here from time to time are taken by the 15 year son of one of the guys that work there.  :)

I know they are both big Alty fans and we usually have a good chat. Unfortunately I copped for the lady today !

It must have been a day off for one of them, She did turn to the other one and asked if he was going tonight and she got  a very curt reply about them being away.

Which just goes to prove if you are a woman and want be one of the boys and talk about footy check your facts !!

I had my hair cut in Oxford Road barbers this morning.

The lady who was cutting it asked if I was watching United v City tonight ?

I replied that I would be but would be but flicking onto Sky as Altrincham were playing Wimbledon...

'Are they on live as well she enquired !!!!.........

Women & Football eh ?
