2-0 down now. These are the games in which we need to come back with something. A point now would be a respectful result. Coke on Alty, show some steel!!

Being passed to death by a team of 100mph players full of confidence.

There football is unreal.

We are having five minutes spells. Dread to think what will happen when we tire.

sh*t happens. Just make sure we get back on track Saturday

What we didnt want to happen happened. They flew at us, scored and then we gave them a pen.

They were lightning fast and skillful and passed and passed.

We improved second half but it was never going to be our night with shots off line etc.

Better team won. Best team performance I have seen since guiseley.

Sounds like we lost the midfield battle from listening to Flynny et al , I'm still concerned we don't have enough leaders in the side when our heads drop and we're up against it.We need to get a guy Branston an Eddie hussin and a target man from somewhere with this cup money

It looked like a very soft pen to me but we can't complain about the result. We were bullied plain and simple. Histon showed spirit and determination while we couldn't string more than a few passes together. At times during the first half our midfield was non existent. Whenever we won a header we seemed to give it straight back. We shouldn't rely on luck but we had none tonight.

Lee was livid at times. Only Doughty and Stu looked to have any fight in the first half. We need to forget this happened before Saturday.

What has happened to Jake Moult? He has been poor for some time now

No complaints about the result. Histon were a very good side.

But I am concerned about how easily and quickly we accepted defeat. Havern was the only player who showed any sign of unhappiness about what was happening. We need more fight.

Okay we lost

I wasn't there but it seems that the better team won

That however does NOT make us a bad team and nor does it mean that we have to make wholesale changes, buy in players willy nilly etc.

We have been on a good run where we have played good football, scored goals and won games we would have lost not only last season but earlier this season.

All teams have bad performances, we seem to have had one tonight and lost

SO

On Saturday we need to start another run just like the one which ended tonight

I'll be fair to Histon, they did a number on us and passed the ball better than most BSN sides I've seen us play this season.

Considering for years they were an awful long ball outfit the change in their style of play is bloody impressive. The positive out of that is they will give all the other play off contenders they've still to play a very hard game.

As others have said though after our very good run we take that on the chin and move on to the weekend, still think we are a top 5 outfit...

I went to the match with a friend of mine who set up the youth accademy at Histon and has been involved with them for years. He said tonight's game was the best perfermance that he has ever seen from a Histon side, including the team that hit the top of the Conference. I didnt think we were that bad tonight but to be honest we were second best. I thought it more of a case that Histon played very well. Hopefully we will put things right at Workington on Saturday.

Weird to read about a Histon team passing........when I saw them beat us at Moss Lane a few years ago in the conference the ball was in the air most of the time!

It was a team full of confidence just ready to tear into us and that's  what they did.

They never let us get going at all. Yes we could have done better but I honestly don't think we need to analyse it too much.   We knew it wasn't going to be our night when they cleared off the line.

Histon off the pitch is still a weird place, on the pitch they were simply superb especially on that first half. I don't know the ages of all the players but some are going onto bigger things.

Onwards to Saturday and we must fly at them like Histon did to us.

Five or Six players were left out of the Histon squad last night, two of which would have been in their starting line-up, as they are needed for Histon's FA Youth Cup match tonight at home to Liverpool.

Re Off the pitch you're right there Ecky. None of us lot paid to get in. Simply walked straight from the car park upstairs into the bar and then down onto the ground at kick off. Not challenged once. Still they made it up in bar takings from us with those cans of IPA.

as long as it's a blip i don't think it will effect our play off place anyway.

this is what worries me, as soon as we play a team with confidence we get beat

Not sure why they should have had more confidence than us either?

To be honest Jamie from what I heard coming out of the Boston dressing room pre match they weren't short on confidence and we didn't lose to them did we?

I'm not trying to downplay us getting beaten but, to quote Hughesey it fair boils my piss that as soon as we lose people start picking holes in and criticising something which the majority of them have been more than happy with during our unbeaten run

Indeed. There was no issue with our confidence. It was more the fact that they went for us from the off as the home team should. By the time we could get a foothold we were two down.  The penalty killed us.

We had a good chance midway through the first half with Duncan which the keeper made a great save. Perhaps it could have been different if that had gone in.

Forget the league table, this was one of best sides I have seen this season. It was their night.

I would like to think of it as being just a blip, but apart from Boston we have hardly played well at all this year.
Stalybridge, Gloucester, Corby   - we were lucky to win any of them. Hope this can be remedied, because if we do get to the playoffs we will need to up our game significantly.

Not necessarily. Once you get in the play-offs, you have to remember it can sometimes be a lottery. I remember how Nuneaton battered us in that semi-final once they went behind, and somehow we clung on and won on pens.

Whilst I agree we will have to up our performances to ensure we are in the top 5 by end of April, I'd happily take what happened in those 3 games you mentioned....wins.

We will know better after the game on saturday if this was a blip or not.

I sense we have gone off the boil a little and Moult seems to have lost a little form and we may see him on the bench on saturday as LS was having a go at him against Corby as well. Just hope Simon is fit for saturday as we miss his drive and energy. We should have too much quality for Workington, but you never know if they get an early goal it might pan out similarly?

Histon were decent enough for their win....

We knew they'd come at us (Look at their last 4/5 games) and probably take their chances, we had to take our chance

unfortunately the chance fell to Rodgers who scooped it over, doubel save on the line and watmore only had the one...

Their goals were scrappy on a pitch which has 4 games a week on it at time

Positives... we're still in 4th and Worcester lost.

Dont worry - that was definately not the reason that they were there last night.
