Chris Senior has failed a fitness test. Rod Thornley starts on the bench.

Well, I can dream!

Our team according to BBC sport. What will the formation be?
-
Very nervous start by the sound of it.
We're playing 4-4-2 according to one of my sources at the game.
-
Porto just scored.....
-
Poor attendance apparently.
-
1 down
-
we are?
-
just got the update... Jesus it doesnt get better does it
-
we are?
FFS: We are!
-
Our confidence must be in bits. We need something to cling to, be it a lucky goal or a penalty. Anything to get our heads up and get us playing again.
-
This is a grim looking evening... >:(
-
Rooneys just scored the softest goal for United
-
Long way to go yet, let's try and stay positive. We can do this, no matter how hard it might seem!
Not arsed about Champions League.
-
We're having a god spell now. We need a goal!! Come on lads!
-
We can get something from this game aslong as it stays 1-0 we still have a chance... Have we had any decent chances?
-
Would be nice for us to enjoy a slice of the luck like United just got with the passback that Rooney latched on to for the goal....
-
We've had a lot of attacking play. Are you not listening to the commentary?
-
nope cant get it to work. Having a nightmere with it...
-
We've had a lot of attacking play. Are you not listening to the commentary?
but no shots on target according to BBC
-
I don't think we have had any clear shots on goal, but we've been getting a few corners and putting them under pressure.
-
Good move by Alty and a good save from a Densmore shot. Our best chance of the game apparently.
-
Vics one up. This is great news for us!
-
Vics one up. This is great news for us!
C'mon Vics!!!!!
Now to wash my mouth out with soap n water!
-
Don't you feel like we are a marathon runner who has hit the wall and is staggering all over the road to the 50 point finish which is so close but seems so far away??!!
-
Was this a very bad corner or are we already throwing Stu up for corners:
BBC: Save by Lee Hook. Corner taken by Matthew Doughty, free kick awarded for an unfair challenge on Stuart Coburn by Simon Wormull
-
York just missed a penalty against Oxford!
-
kidderminster 1 up against forest green.
-
Looking better:
Possession
63% Alty v E B 37%
Shots on target
3 3
Shots off target
3 2
-
0-2
Coburn mistake from long-range shot.
-
FFS we just dont get any luck... Uphill task now
-
I had to wait for confirmation on Sky. I just don't believe this!
-
47 points to stay up? Anyone? >:( >:( >:(
-
1-2 Little
The comeback starts here!!!!
-
47 points to stay up? Anyone? >:( >:( >:(
Only if Woking & Weymouth keep losing
-
1-2 Little
The comeback starts here!!!!
C'mon Alty. Let this breed a wee bit of conidence
-
FGR equalise - but I reckon they'd be safe anyway
-
Very important to go in at HT within a goal of them.
All to play for now. Come on lads.
-
WE CAN DO THIS!!!!
-
1-2 Little
The comeback starts here!!!!
We need Eastbourne to "do an Alty" now and piss a 2 goal lead away!! ::)
-
Come on now.Go into half time with some confidence from that. Get Rod on in the second half......
-
1-2 HT
We've got something to build on there. All to play for so let's stay positive!!
-
Keep it tight first 10 and then lets get at them. If we play attacking football we have a chance
-
Fs, come on Alty enough now. Please give an old timer a quiet run in. After Saturday I and many others deserve something.
-
Anyone got any velcro for Coburn's gloves?
-
Attendance: 605
-
Attendance: 605
Bloody hell
-
Attendance: 605
Poor but understandable. Shows what our hardcore is and how perception of what is important.
-
605 really aint bad under the circumstances.
-
I've got to go and get the nipper from nursery. Good luck all, here is hoping maybe we can come up with some late heroics for once.... :P
-
O'Neill for Peyton.
Ref off injured.
-

Priorities: the nipper can wait!
-
Not content with calling off the original fixture due to frozen pitch, Mr Harrington has to go home for his tea! His wife no doubt rang him during the interval!
-
Who the f*** is "Neil Doughty"?!?
-
605 really aint bad under the circumstances.
Can't agree mate, it shows that a couple or more poor results plus Utd on tv means a crap gate. Say we actually did well and had a bit of a run, it would clearly drop off as soon as things weren't as good. Our top years in 79-80 80-81 were not in fairness that well supported. Does this town and environs deserve a decent side is the question?
-
Phil Taylor or Andrew Coop have been summoned to the tunnel area. Presumably they require a qualified official to be 4th official.
-
Get in Phil!
-

But when you consider there are no floaters there tonight and that we've also won three games in 2009 it could also be a lot worse. Don't get me wrong, 605 is a crap attendance but it's better than it might have been.

Agreed, when was he last time we had such a low attendance.
I can assure you that, if I was in travelling distance, I would be there. When I was local (Chester/Ellesmere Port) a match at ML was always a bigger draw than the champions league
-
just got on.Not good by the look of things
-
All is not lost. Long way to go yet. Needless to say the next goal is all important.
-
looked like chris senior could have been fit for tonights game, but obviously not
-
Thornley on for Johnson
-
Remember Sunday: all is lost for Man U - 2-1 down and playing poorly. Then with the help of a super sub super goal a late victory: Cue Rodders!
-
rods on
-
col went close then
-
Free kick to Alty
-
2-2 Densmore
-
2-2 you just added Densmore rofl
-
'YESSSSSS!!!!!! C'MON THE REDS
-
Get in! Now just need Rod to stick the winner in!!
COME ON ALTY. Great spirit shown to get it back from 2 down.
-
Rods making a pest of himself by the sound of it
-
Was going to say let it be Rod but who cares, he can get the winner. Lets have a Rod Thornley summersault tonight.
-
Harold mate how do you fancy logging out then in again, it did a job last time.
-
rofl good idea
-
Woking still 1 down, could do with Kettering doing the job v Barrow
-
someone needs to tell o neil that you kick the ball with your foot
-
Woking losing is v good, anyone but them or Weymouth are capable of getting out.
One more goal for us tonight however will sort us I'm sure.
-
this commentator is not bad
-
Very good commentator !
-
Come on Alty!!
-
Northwich 2 up. But forest green just gone infront
-
welch another long freekick saved by stu coburn on the bbc text rofl
-
Come on alty lets make it safe..
-
Vics 2-0 is fine.
-
Would take the results as they stand.
-
OK, either the BBC are sh*t or Welch has no sense of direction:
"Michael Welch produces a shot on goal direct from the free kick, save made by Stuart Coburn."
-
JD we all know the BBC dont make mistakes
-
Please no 88 minute crap, close it down if needs be.
-
JD we all know the BBC dont make mistakes
Gee, time to have a word with Welchy then!!!
-
Alty free kick
-
C'MON!
-
Can't be long.
-
Kiddie equalise v FGR
Barrow draw
-
Kidderminster down to 9 men!
-
kettering 0-0 ft
-
Vics 2-0 final score v Woking
York 0-0
-
Vics useful for once.
-
8 more minutes
-
McGregor for Welch
8 minutes added.
-
FGR draw
-
Why so long? The ref getting injured?
-
Kidderminster down to 9 men!
Will they be 2 players missing against us?
-
sounds like we are throwing the kitchen sink at them
-
sounds like we are throwing the kitchen sink at them
If it's Jacqui Smiths it will cost a lot!
-
I expect both Kidderminster players will miss Saturday.
-
ft at last just shows we can attack when we want
-
2-2
Will definitely take that with Woking losing. After going 2 down we should all feel quite pleased with the result in the end.
-
ft at last just shows we can attack when we want
I wish we'd attacked like that a bit earlier. But decent comeback
-
goodnight everyone
-
Night night H
We move up 1 place
-
Thanks Vics, more useful tonight than any other result.
-
Just got back, 2-2 will take that, would have gladly taken a point at kick off. Came back from 2 down and showed a bit of fight, thats more like it....
-
Can you eff off for all remaining second halves please Simon :D
-
Can you eff off for all remaining second halves please Simon :D
Steve, let me tell you, if it means us staying up I'll gladly and happily eff off for each game!!! ;D
-
Top man, although it did used to be me.
-
Much better second half, when rod came on it gave the team a lift. 2 good goals from us and we went close on a couple of occassions. Thought the stand in Ref disd well, although there were a few handballs not givenin my opinion>
Come on lads, come on Alty.

Come on lads, come on Alty.
playing young and doughty at centre back and left back in second half helped , they are their natural positions where they look best imo
-
Great result to come from 2-0 down especially considering our recent form and results.
Well done lads and well done Vics
-
just got back from game, second half was a vast improvement and we deserved at least a point. Does anyone agree that we played much better when Joe came on for Warren Peyton?
-
I'd have to say that the substitution which made the most difference was when Rod Thornley came on.
-
I'd have to say that the substitution which made the most difference was when Rod Thornley came on.
Agreed.
The sparse crowd was buzzing at this point.
Young, Welch, Densmore, Wilkinson, Smith and Johnson must've thought Pele was coming on or something!
-
Mixed emotions, to be honest.
Relieved to emerge with a point after gifting Eastbourne a two goal lead.
However, after watching a game running well over 100 minutes at Moss Lane, I thought that they were a team we were well capable of defeating if we had defended with more conviction in the first half and not let them establish a lead.
Quite a small team compared to many sides that visit Moss Lane.
Thankfully, other results were quite favourable, especially Vics beating Woking.
-
Great second half (or should I say Hour) after a somewhat uninspired first 45 mins.. I have said time and time again that Little should stay up field when the opposition has a corner.. He was marking fresh air last night when he went back and due to the there being no out ball for the defenders Eastbourne got there second goal..
Altys tactics for a opposition corner in the second half was exactly the same.. When do you think the penny will drop with the management (Hope you read this GH) that having 11 players inside your own penalty area at corners is just asking for trouble........ Rocket Science it is not.........
We also seem to play it on the ground more when Oneil came on..
Disappointing crowd though... I find it hard to believe that all the "stay aways" were just because the posers of the champs league were playing...
Good comeback after being 2 - 0 down more of the second half display against Kiddy on Sat would be good
Cmon Alty...
-
Crowd of 605, more or less what I'd have expected. If we say that perhaps about 50/75 people will watch Alty IF United aren't at home, another couple of hundred will watch United if they're on telly, it was Tuesday meaning some people can't travel to the game, plus Eastbourne (understandably) brought next to nothing. All factors accounting for being about 400 down on our average.
Has to be said though, the atmosphere second half was good, in large part down to Rodders' introduction.
-
Eastbourne brought more than nothing. There was about 30 of them milling about which is a good effort, credit where it's due.
Their keeper Lee Hook has had two fine games against us now.
I always think we should have got Val in last night!

I thoroughly enjoyed the second half last night! Don't get me wrong this is not a pro conference north post or anything of the sort!
It just reminded me a bit of the Unibond days and the Conference North days where the ground was full of the die hards who have been with this club all the way through the last 15 years (Unibond, Conf North, relegation etc)!! It seemed fitting with Rod coming on, the reception from the fans to Rod and from Rod to the fans was touching!!
In bigger games it annoys me being sorrounded by people who don't really give a sh*t but the club needs the revenue i guess!!
Bring on Saturday!!
-
Well last night was my first home game in ( I think) at least twenty years.
I have to say the old place hasn't changed too much.
I arrived a bit late and they scored their first just as I was coming though the turnstile!
I though we put them under a lot of pressure without really managing to get the ball down and play through them and it was a lot better than Saturday at Lewes.
I was a bit surprised that Young got Man of the Match. He was strong in the air (against a much shorter opponent) and commited as ever but I though James Smith was our best defender and distributed well from the back, Densmore showed some quality in midfield and scored an excellent free kick and Little was unlucky not to score more than one.
On Saturday I thought we could have played until Sunday and not scored. Last night I though we were unlucky not to win.
-
How loud was the roar when Rod came on?
