Last Ten Minutes of Games
« on: August 21, 2010, 09:31:23 AM »

Apart from Rushden last season, I cannot think of too many games where we have scored in the last ten minutes.
Unfortunately, the only goals scored in this time are at our end. If it happens in a few games it could be called a fluke, but it seems to be happening with a depressing regularity.
Is it something to do with fitness, or is it pyschological? I am sure GH is wrestling with the problem right now!!

Surprisingly, last season we scored in the 80th.minute or later in no less than 12 of our 46 League games (the stat includes Chester City). On two occasions we scored twice in that period (the Home games with both Gateshead and Salisbury).

However, conceding late has been a problem for some time now. Could be tiring legs due to the old part-time v full-time argument. I'd like to think so, because that would be a reasonable argument. If it's psychological THAT would seriously worry me !
