Without wanting to stir up any hornets nest about the Alty chairman, there is an interesting interview with him in Cheshire Business magazine, available to read at http://www.cheshirebiz.com/images/Magazine/CheshireBusiness.pdf (http://www.cheshirebiz.com/images/Magazine/CheshireBusiness.pdf) from page 13
John Laidler's Alty website remains as active, informative and comprehensive as ever I see - fantastic work.

In short, the reluctant chairman continues to put his retirement hobby ahead of supporters staying away and two bob outfits out performing us. If you can’t get the investment to compete with borehamwood and Harrogate, let somebody who can have a go.

Superb post Observer 👍

"We appointed the assistant manager but ended up being relegated."
Not quite an adequate account of that period.

Wouldn't agree the 'Rowley Out campaign' is "ongoing" to be honest. If it is, its pretty sh*t.

Just confirms what a lot of people have been saying for a while now, in that preserving the retirement hobby takes priority over what is in the best interests of the football club.
A lot of what is said in the article, while many would disagree with him, is the sort of bollocks that one might expect to be spouted in such an interview. But to openly criticise a fan-paid advert to assist in advertising shares that the club were supposedly trying to sell (at the time), and that was actually agreed in conjunction with The Sports Business, tells you everything you need to know about the contempt Altrincham supporters outside his inner circle of smoke blowers are held.
But I must admit, describing those that conducted that sham review thing they held the other year as ‘external consultants’ made me chuckle. A lot. So fair play.

It's very disappointing that Grahame could not acknowledge the respect he was at least given to move the club forward.
As Leon has said, the article merely states a couple of things that happened as a result of some pretty disgraceful actions. Although as Matt says, that's not exact what you'd be looking to read in that publication.
It seems to say we got relegated and people wanted a scapegoat. Well, no one did that the previous times under GR tenure that we got relegated did they?...
Still at least the good times are back eh? 👍
Quite frankly Grahame Rowley should feel pretty ashamed of himself every time he opens up the club rather than grinning for articles such as this. If he had an ounce of respect for the club he'd acknowledge that and the fan base he has ruined.

Couldn't agree more, however "supposedly" is too generous.

If you were a Cheshire businessman/woman with a bit of cash, big ideas and expertise, interested in football, and some time and energy to spare, would you rush off to ring the Club as soon as you read that?

C**t!

"I've held my hand up for mistakes that have been made"

“For whatever reason, it’s me rather than the whole club board who has since
become the target of some fans’ protests.
Surely when you are chairman the buck stops with you?
