Anyone want a lift to Ru$hden?
« on: September 29, 2008, 10:42:34 AM »

If you would like  a lift to Rushden, please post here or e-mail cooperhugh@hotmail.com

I will probably leave about 3 or 4pm. I will check here probably early pm. Am prepared to do it for free if necessary, this is about getting people down there not money - I know the 'coach' was sold out a while ago.

Please don't think I'm being rude Hugh and it's your choice entirely:

However, if you are setting off between 3 and 4 would it not have been cheaper and just as convenient to support the away coach?

The away coach is full, over subscribed infact. Im more bemused at the amount of southern exiles that arent going tonight, due to it being on TV.Its an hour from london to wellingborough, and it doesnt start until 7:45.I thought people would be eager to see the team in the flesh on a rare midweek jaunt down south.

My parents are staying with me at the moment and as I don't see them very often that is more important. We will be watching on the telly though. Also, it's well over an hour from south east london in good traffic but in rush hour traffic you can more than double that.

I didn't realise the minibus was over-subscribed so fair play to you Hugh for offering the extra car space.

Just to clarify, Ian tried to book us on on Saturday (I only found I could go on Friday).

As for Rushden being horrible - I think it's only the stewards!

To be fair to Alty fans at home and us lot down here, it's a pain in the arse for everyone to get to and one of the least appealling away's I can think of regardless of date and time, hardly an easy trip in rush hour traffic from London either, I will be at Salisbury next Tuesday anyway.

Any excuse not to go to Rushden and I'll bite yer hand off.

It's a bummer to get to mid-week, everyone has to get to a car and meet up then get up the M1 with the roadworks!! I think not sir, it can take one hour to go three junctions....

Rushden is a nightmare to get to on a Saturday never mind mid week peak hours traffic on the M25/M1
Its also not as close - for me its over 100 miles
