Cos we wouldn't be far off being a good side if we had a striker!

Definitely lacked that today. You can't take spencers goals away from him but that's all they had and they're sat very smuggley on top of the pile tonight.

Spot on. If we had someone like him or the lad at Vauxhall we'd be top of this league as we're creating enough chances

It's still August, and September is the month you can shake the football tree and see what footballers released by other clubs fall out.

We might have to look to the loan market for a forward.

The only slight postive is that Twiss continues to gradually improve  (yes Jacko I know he isn't going to get 25 goals), he was only holding it up well today but also making good runs at defenders.

Just a thought

Our two strikers  played in the BSBP last season. This is a higher standard of football so you would expect goalscoring to be harder but, from what I've seen so far this season, admittedly at home games only, you do seem to get challenged more quickly at this level.

Every change of standard of football requires a period of readjustment. I would be more concerned if we were not creating the chances, or people weren't getting into position to take them than I am that we aren't finishing them all.

We scored three against Histon who, coincidentally were relegated with us at the end of last season and so had a defence (still) more like those we played against last year.

People may say that our 'better standard' strikers should score more at this level. I suspect that they will and soon

Incidentally I still stick by my earlier assertion that Astley is not yet ready to start and should be developed by use as an impact substitute for (unless injuries dictate) probably no more than 25 -30 minutes maximum, and not every game. Once he has developed from this experience  he will be an asset IMHO

Phil i promise u that u get challenged quicker at bsp level u do make me laugh,I don't think its goals that's the problem more tactics and obviosly squad depth,oh and Ryan brown can't defend also someone can't do more than 50 minutes up front without blowing out of his arse, mullholland will come on one game soon score and start the next game I'm sure, he'll make his mark

Anyone who saw mulholland play against stockport knows he isn't the answer, not yet anyway, we need to go and find a decent striker, like a said yesterday, put 7 days approach in on some of these players from Hyde and vauxhall.

I think people refuse to believe any of our players might have improved?

Ryan Brown has been a very good left back so far this season.
