The opening lines of Mister Laidlar's report on yesterday's first half at Moss Lane:

"Although it was dry at kick off, there had been drizzle for much of the morning and it was dull enough for the floodlights to be used from the start. York, playing 3-5-2, kicked off towards the Carole Nash End and started the better of the two sides."

No wonder Alty were 1-0 up at half-time then!

So, the man is human after all!
