If we manage to stay up this year, just been given another 20 point deduction to add to the ten they'ev already got, meaning they start the season on -30.  :o

And if they manage to stay in business. Not a forgone conclusion.

I know Alty fans tend to have strong opinions on these issues but in my opinion it's a disgraceful decision.  Things are looking a bit more dodgy for Rotherham as well

And Bournemouth will be next  http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/bournemouth/7500495.stm

Cherries wait on League decision

The Football League have deferred a decision on whether AFC Bournemouth will be hit by another points deduction for going into administration.

In a statement, the League say they are awaiting the "necessary paperwork", before making a decision.

The Cherries were docked 10 points last season, which consigned them to relegation from League One.

The likelihood is that they will face a further 15-point deduction for the start of their League Two campaign.

That is because the League's preferred method of exiting administration - a Company Voluntary Arrangement - was not passed at a meeting of Bournemouth's creditors.

My mate is a Luton fan and he's already said he's coming up for the game at Moss Lane!

A few seasons ago it was all looking so promising for them!

Perhaps these more extreme measures will finally make clubs wake up to the seriousness of the problems they are creating for themselves? You have to feel sorry for the fans of all clubs affected in this way, except for idiotic Northwich fans who now think it's great that they are once again throwing around money they don't have.

The people who are being punished are rarely  the people who have overspent.  Rugby League have wage caps established, surely that is a more effective way of actually  punishing the guilty administration and would show that the football league is serious about protecting creditors instead of coming up with random retrospective penalties.

Completely agree.

It should be a 1point penalty for every 1% over the wage cap and a 10,000 fine for every 1% too. Clubs over 5% of the wage cap will not be promoted or given a play-off place.

Ridiculously strict rules are all thats left to stop the ridiculous idiots running football clubs into the ground.
