Another frustrating loss, deserved more, but were lacking a decent no9 and poor finishing to boot.

Credit to those that travelled.

There is a stat showing us as having 19 efforts at goal that we're off target.
I think that says it all really

The MOM for me simply had to be Tony Thompson. Made four really decent crucial saves.

Unlucky to lose that game as we dominated for large periods in the second half. Plenty of decent approach play but lacking a ruthless killer striker which has been the case quite a few times this season. The amount of times we worked the ball into good areas only to be heavily outnumbered by their defenders was frustrating. Don’t think we are too far away and let’s not forget we are going toe to toe with big ex league clubs here, not the dog and duck. Some of the grief Parky and the players took at the end was a shame, and some of the lads looked totally bemused when their effort was questioned. Certainly no lack of effort from where I was watching.

Joel Senior was my MOM, thought he was excellent

I watched on the stream so turned off after the end of the game. Unlike Tuesday night couldn't fault the graft of the majority of the players. So shame they got stick. But, thats due to some poor results lately and frustration showing. Our finishing was woeful and defending needs to be better, Mindful were playing full time ex league here with big money, so to push them close is creditable. Just need a little luck as well.

I turned off at the end of the stream so didn't hear any of the grief (if indeed it was audible).  From the comfort of my armchair, I thought we equipped ourselves well, and the Notts commentators were not shy of praise for our performance.  As another has already said, some of our fans need to have a reality check when they compare us to some of the opposition we are facing.  Like it or not, in all but a handful of games, we are punching well above our weight in this league.

I can only deduce that the grief must come from those newer fans that have only ever seen Parky teams on an upward trajectory (I'd argue we're still on one of course)... or sections of the old fanbase that will simply never be happy.

We're certainly entitled as fans to have our opinions, but please forgive me if I think they're currently misplaced.

The fact we're upset by a 2-1 reverse away at Notts County says everything about how far we've come.

I'm sure we're not the only team in the league that wants a 20+ goals per season striker for Christmas. We might be a force to be reckoned with if we find one.

Notts County certainly did their best to aid us during a second half in which they repeatedly gave the ball away.

Notwithstanding all of our possession though and the three decent chances that we fashioned (Moult's volley, Colclough's shot which grazed the post and Kosylo dragging a left-foot shot wide of the target when well-positioned), I still had the feeling that the home side were actually the more likelier to score again. Credit to Thompson for keeping tham at bay during that second half.

We did look extremely vulnerable down our left flank, where Hampson regularly seemed to be outnumbered. That's concerning for Boxing Day at Edgeley Park, especially if Southam-Hales is on song.

The streaming was pretty good and the commentators were fair.

Meanwhile, Radio Robins playing Panic by The Smiths during the half-time interval did seem to be rather a harsh observation on our current predicament!

Played well in large parts but we are missing so many chances.

Kossy worked hard as a roaming no.9 and put them under pressure. Senior was MOTM with some top runs.

Looking weak at LB.

Poor sub bringing Dinanga on out wide. He was a headless chicken, should have been Peers in that game.

Anyone know what is up with Mooney now?

Apparently, Andy White had a fantastic game in FCUM's win at Buxton yesterday. When can we have him back?

The main problem is the 3 centre forwards. For me, Peers is the best of them and the other two need shipping out asap with Peers used as an impact sub.

Presumably, Jackson and Mooney are being saved for the Christmas fixtures.

We are a very good team, with a strong manager with an attractive footballing ethos. Obviously, we can make it into the top half with a small tweak or two - will probably need to get lucky with a loan striker.

I didn't go yesterday. I wouldn't have had a go at the team myself, but I suppose, if people have paid to attend, they have the right to do so.

Agree with all of this.

Last night felt like Phil throwing his weight to the strikers.

Showing he'd play without them. I'd have brought Peers as a winger.

We need a Reeves poacher, or to play with a Yussef style speed striker that can spearhead a front 3.

Joel senior is a credit to himself. Consistently our top Performer.

He'd have 2 or 3 assist a week with Reeves or Walshaw style striker.
