As per the main club site the reserves are going up. Great achievement and well deserved.
Alty FC - going in the right direction, on and off the pitch.

Always nice to have success for the club, but I am struggling to see the point of the reserves as currently configured.
I would have expected Dave Parton to play on occasion to keep his eye in, and an extended spell for Gillespie might have helped his confidence. Likewise with Greg Wilkinson. additionally the odd bench player would come from the reserves (who I would expect to do better than 0-4 against Vics in the CSC)
But I do note - and this may be important - that Joel Swift has knocked in quite a few penalties this season!! That's got to be worth a place on the bench, just in case
And before we get too excited division one has teams like Maine Road reserves and Warrington Town reserves - so not yet the big time
-
Perhaps thats the point, they may need to get promoted for a few seasons before they are playing in a useful team

Congratulations on the promotion - but I hardly think the third tier of the Hallmark Cheshire County Football League is really serving much of a purpose for us

That level of football is equivalant to Sunday League 2nd Division which I played for many seasons and I was nowhere near Conference standard!
