See the club's official website for Alty's stance on what should happen to the remainder of this season.
-
Very positive stance. Let's hope the rest of the league is of a similar mindset.
-
We've come a long way in a few short years.
-
Superb response.
-
Good. Quitters never win, and winners never quit.
-
What a brilliant and well written statement, here here Bill.
-
I would have expected no less from the club. We're in a better position to progress than I can ever remember.
-
Spot on. Bold and ambitious, what every Alty fan should want to hear.
-
What a fantastic Club to support Alty is.

so very true. There’s a huge choice of other clubs in Greater Manchester you could support but why would you? Only one Alty🥳
-
It's a very good, strong statement with the idea that it's the duty or obligation of clubs to continue because of their elite status showing that it's not just about self-interest, and it remembers the history of our league. I haven't seen that point before.
My impression is that most clubs in the national division will opt to continue, while most, but not all, in the regional divisions would like to stop.
-
If there is just one or two who don’t want to carry on in the National League and they fail the criteria for being given a grant, wonder what happens next.

I wonder too. I think three clubs in National South (Concord Rangers, Havant and Waterlooville and someone else) refused to play their forthcoming fixtures and that led to the leagues at that level being suspended for a couple of weeks, if that's any guide, although it just pushes the problem down the line.
-
Well done to Bill and the board . I think it’s safe to say that the statement of intent to complete the season is what the majority of fans wanted to hear..
Onwards & Upwards..
-
Never been prouder to support Alty - brilliant statement of intent Bill.

Looks like it's going to be an interesting ride with Chris on board, judging by the Grimsby fan he's just owned on Twitter :P

Bit cryptic for me. What's it all about?

Grimsby fan criticising our statement, saying we're only doing it because of our position.
Cue 'speaking of position...' together with a screenshot of the bottom of the League Two table ;D
I just hope we continue to tread the line between humour and professionalism in the right manner (call me a prude etc).

Yeah I noticed this too and agree about the need for professionalism.
-
Ah. Thanks for that Marple. Totally agree with your comments mate.

These things should have planned for before a ball was kicked. It would have stopped these lazy jibes.

There are some interesting comments on The Spirites board. They want to continue playing and aren't happy that some clubs won't be able to afford to. The finger of blame has been pointed by some of their fans at the football league who shouldn't allow relegation. It results in big clubs like Chesterfield having to mix it with financially unstable minnows!
This is precisely the point Bill was making in his press statement. We owe it to everyone to keep going so the football league doesn't have the opportunity to pull the drawbridge up again.
-
Agree with this. I think if he's a board member he needs to act the part, which doesn't include getting into arguments with with other teams' fans.

Will you be changing your name to Catax GolfRoader? Bill used the phrase "Catax Golf Road" this p.m. so I assume it's now sponsored?

They have a big advertising board on it

It'll have to depend on the sponsorship deal they're offering!

Need to keep it professional..I started following Chris on twitter but have now stopped..seems a bit of a loose cannon.. I trust the rest of our board to let him know what is expected..suspect it is just enthusiasm
