Runcorn Town are currently top of the North West Counties league and have in their team former Alty players Mark Mcgregor and Carl Rogers

Do they play at/used to be General chemicals Brian? If so I'll dig out the bear skin coat..

I think it's the ground Gen Chems used some time ago, which then passed on to Pavilions FC. Mond Rangers used to play next door. Not sure quite when Runcorn Town came into the picture.

I attended this thriller there three years ago:

Strangely, I mention them on my page in Saturday's programme. Top of the shop in the NW Counties' League and no relation to the Linnets! :-)
-
I thought Carl Rogers left us because he was emigrating.

He went to Australia but returned after a year or so.

I went into the back of the stand/terrace and barely watched the game for about 20 mins because it was the only remotely mild place available.
I can't remember being colder. Incredible, way too cold for snow.
Won 3-0 didn't we, did Alan McDonald get one?

It can only not have been a frozen pitch due to its proximity to the coast. I bet it would have been off now

Very interesting draw as we face the corrupt club as we enter upon our 4th birthday

Interesting to see all four Northwich clubs have drawn each other

They are the only facts that I can remember as well. The fact that we both remember he scored & we can't remember the other scorers, may indicate that he got two.

We could Phil, but at our age it would probably take just that bit longer to do it ::)

is that statement actually true Gareth. Its pretty cold in the Artic yet they seem to get plenty of the white stuff ;)

I see we won't be in danger of playing Macc if we progress....kicked out for playing an ineligible player against Winsford in the previous round ;D

One of those nights you wonder why on earth you're there. I remember Jeff Wealands coming out of the dressing room (aka a garden shed) and jokingly turning back with the words "f*** me, I'm too old for this". So cold I was worried my feet might fuse to the floor. I couldn't feel them for an hour so I could have easily left them behind... :D

I was there too. There must have been so many of us that it was all ticket.
