Just seen on facebook that an Alty fan of the fuselier (and therefore mine and many others) generation has died...Ian Spratt or Spratty. A die hard home and away fan in our glory years and a great lad and family man...also a decent centre back for the fans' team as no-one could get round the bugger.
Does anyone have any details as this is truelly shocking sad news and my thoughts are with his family.

A sad loss. I remember speaking to him a few times when I was younger. He was always one of the gang that stoood to my left with Pete Read, Trucker, Boyney etc.
Thoughts go out to his friends and family. From what I remember her was very well liked by all.

Ian (I believe), sadly died of a massive heart attack on Monday afternoon.
My thoughts are with Jenny his wife, and all his family.

I knew Spratty from our first day at Primary School together - I still can't believe it's true
Condolences to his family, friends and workmates

Just to let everyone know that Spratty had a good send off on Wednesday. Boiling hot which Spratty would have hated, same time as England ko which would have made him chuckle. Crem was packed, some smiles some laughs some tears. Jen and the girls very brave. Eulogy told of his following of Alty. Couldn't make the do at Broadheath Central after but sure it went well. Good to see some Alty there-Rob D, Macca, Brads, Roo, Mossy. Sad to meet again because of Ian going. Reminded that it is 18 years to the week of Tony Dawson's going- Golf Road in the sky getting bigger. RIP Robins.

The do at Broadheath Central went well.
Jenny made it a day of celebration, to the life of Ian.
The kids let off ballooons with their own messages tied to them.
The big laugh of the day was tring to get the lantern to get going, but in the end, off it went to a loud cheer.
Never to be forgotten, RIP Spratty, we will all miss you.
