The excitement mounts
« on: April 25, 2007, 12:03:03 PM »

Everyone i meet thinks i have gone mad. I really couldn't care less about the Champions League, Premier League, United/Liverpool/Chelsea etc. I am much more interested in the relegation situation in the Conference. Saturday will be one of the most exciting days in football history. I still think Grays will be relegated as they have the most difficult game but the teams i don't want to go down are

Altrincham - relegation would set the club back years
Crawley - they have had enough problems this season
Cambridge United - because i put £50 on them at 11/10 to win on Saturday

The team I don't want to go down is Altrincham.

No disrespect to any other teams but I couldn't give a toss who goes down as long as it's not us.

Agreed 100%, we have to be selfish in a situation like this.

It isnt excitment for me I am afraid.

I am confident one of the teams on 52 points will slip up under pressure. I am just not confident that Alty will beat .............................. I cant say it.

COME ON ALTY - IT WILL BE STRESSFUL DAY - I GOT MY CIGS READY - TRUCKER BRING YOUR LIGHTER.

Well i am working Saturday afternoon and am tempted not to look at the scores on the bbc website until full time, but i am very nervous over the result.I have said elswhere i would like to see Grays stay up(but not at our expense)because they helped us last season.I still see Satfford as the best bet to drop in our place

Quick question Baldrick, what on earth possessed you to bet £50 on us!?

By the way, it will be a draw.

Cambridge are potentially one of the best teams in the Conference.  Of all the teams in danger of relegation Cambridge are the one team i would call a banker to stay up.

If Cambridge were to draw 0-0 and we were to win 4-0 we would be level with Cambridge on goal difference (both on -10), yet be one ahead on goals scored (57 to 56).

If Cambridge were to draw 1-1 and we were to win 4-0 we would be level with Cambridge on both goal difference and goals scored.
