Not an easy game to rearrange
« on: February 25, 2014, 11:17:41 PM »

Good luck to Derek Wilshaw in his efforts to rearrange tonight's postponed game.

Oxford City & Alty appear to have one free midweek date at present, inevitably it's not the same week.

Wednesday April 23rd would appear to be a possibility, yet I suspect that the Conference would want to keep that date free for both clubs at present, just in case there are some April postponements that threaten the league finishing on April 26th.

Looks like there's going to be 3 games in a week at some point.

I can see this fixture congestion being a major problem in our quest for promotion. Especially as were light in numbers squad wise.
I've had a feeling for sometime that the lack of depth in the squad would come and bite us in the arse

Thanks to our early FA cup and trophy exit strategy we've kept them to a minimum. >:(

I wonder if we have to keep April 15th (our one spare midweek date) free in any case for a possible CSC final?

I'm not generally as anti-CSC as many on here but we could do with losing to Stalybridge on Tues.

I take the opposite view with the CSC now - it will allow all the squad to retain match fitness and potentially keep a winning streak going.  It can be good for morale for the fringe players and give (eg) Rob Gilroy some first team time in a lower profile environment.  And some of those fringe players will end up with critical roles - Perry and Wilkinson being the obvious examples

We probably have a smaller squad than most though
