How many?

Does anyone know the attendance at ML tonight for the Utd City game.
An excellent idea to hand out the leaflets offering a fiver entrance for Saturdays game..
Hopefully we will get a great crowd on Sat, with a good atmosphere and 3 pts  :D

Don'r know the exact number but there was a good crowd in. I'd guesstimate thick end of 2,000. I'm sure ATS or Darren will be able to confirm shortly.

Nothing out of the ordinary - just the usual anti Glazer chants.

I attended last night and whilst there was a good crowd in, the leaflet distribution was a bit patchy.

I entered through the turnstiles by the main stand and whilst the leaflets were there with the turnstile operator I certainly wasn't handed one an neither were any of the others before me or immediately after me.

I also didn't hear any announcements about the offer on the PA system either before the match or at half time.

Neither was there an announcemnet that the next match at Moss Lane was this Saturday against York City. An opportunity lost I fear ?

Yes, not to take anything away from the volunteers at all, but my 2 colleagues attended and didnt get a leaflet.

I do have this afternoon to talk them into coming down though!

How very Alty.

When I used to do the United PA I always used to announce the Alty game at the end even if they were at home.  I used to say "if you can't get to Old Trafford on Saturday your support would be very welcome at Moss Lane when we entertain x"

Maybe the PA guy who does Tuesdays isn't on the net much and was unaware.

Lets hope someone asks him to do it for the next game.

Sounds like a communication problem to me.  I do often wonder why we never get any half time scores etc at matches. Are the logistics of obtaining them too dificult. in the 15 minute period?

Can we not stick a big notice in his booth saying "Advertise the next game" in fkn great big letters..

Its a shame that not all the leaflets were handed out. People will read them if they are stuffed in there hands but would probably not bother to actually pick one up.

Maybe we could hire a plane and fly over the local area dropping leaflets like the Americans did in Vietnam and Iraq.

I dont think I could do that job. I would be tempted to pick the microphone up during the game and berate the ref  ;) :D

It could make for some good entertainment though....

Reading out the teams prior to the game then adding on at the end " And the bastard in the black is Mr *****

Please note that the number of astericks COULD spell the name JOYCE.

 ;) :D
