Can we have one thread that doesn't descend into unfunny puns? Someone has asked a serious questions and we've got death puns FFS!

If you don't like it, don't read it or just as simply, ignore it.

Deep breaths now...

And you wonder why it's the same 5 people that post on here...

Speaking of Statues, when is the club going to do the decent thing and erect a statue of Stuart Coburn outside Moss Lane?

I'm talking full fist pump action going on....

I reckon if we spend the £75k money from our FA cup run to get it forged, then it will be ready by the time he becomes number one on the all-time appearance list.

Great pic!

James Robinson, one of the best finishers I've ever seen for Alty.

Agree.

This has nothing to do with Altrincham

To be fair, it says so in the title, so there was nothing forcing you to click on the link.

You're missing my main point, which is that Galatasaray effecitively got a walkover in a game they normally would have lost against a full strength United side. It showed a total lack of respect to the other two teams in that group and it shouldn't have been allowed to happen. I reject the idea that they "earned the right" to do what they did as well. Perhaps from a purely selfish point of view they had earned that right, but in the spirit of the game they had a duty to try their best to beat Galatasaray.

This.

2. Lawrie is 10 times the player Dale is at the moment even though Lawrie has 3 and Dale has 7 goals this season.

Compare their records for Altrincham.

James Lawrie is 10x the player Dale Johnson is.

It's an interesting comparison because Lawrie, like Dale, is a player who has a tendancy to "go missing" occasionally. Lawrie is undoubtedly a more skilful and gifted footballer, but his goal return is fairly disappointing for a supporting striker in my opinion. I like James but he definitely needs to score more goals.

Lawrie is played in a half a dozen different positions though (well...3) - left wing, right wing, supporting striker. If Sinnot can make up his mind where to play him (ideally off Reeves) with Clee/Watmore on either wing, I think we'll see more consistent performances :)
