Solihull played a better game, especially second half. Two well taken goals, a lot of lovely passing and movement. Having said that Colclough would have set them a load of puzzles and created space elsewhere.

Yes, that sums up the match well Solihull were the better team, but our scratch team did pretty well, even if we did miss some of the absent players.
The biggest triumph was the success of the promotion, bringing in the huge crowd. Unfortunately, so many such events, not just for us, seem to end in defeat....
Should we have played as we did with a weakened team or should we have tried to call the game off with the loss of TV revenue and goodwill from the newcomers, even if we were allowed to? I don't know, and probably think we should have played, although I can certainly see why people might think otherwise.
