It’s not just a question of whether they are under contract it’s about what the club and player are offered by EFL teams. I would be amazed if lost anyone we want to keep to another national league team after the season we’ve had. Mooney’s experience will teach them the grass isn’t always greener. Lundstram didn’t seem to fair much better at Oldham.

But if a league one team came in for them ……

We’ve done so well our boys are bound to attract attention and at least a couple we’d like to keep will probably get EFL deals we can’t refuse.  In order of most disappointing to lose for me would be:

Ross
Linney
CCC / Baines

Based as much on the challenge of finding a suitable replacement as their individual quality. Recent attempts have shown finding a good 1 and 9 are the hardest positions to fill

The loss of Marriott told in the end. Recruiting quality that can fight for those places where we don’t have cover and potentially take those places will be crucial. As well as keeping the clear first XI

But we are a playoff club now. No-one to fear in the league next year. If we can keep the team together they’ve shown anything is possible. And they are a young team. The glass may not be overflowing but it’s way more than half full!

Quite right to.

Does make the original announcement even more baffling though. Adhering to rules that hadn’t been well thought out was one thing but doing something stupid that was against your rules is unbelievably daft

If this situation arose again next season the team in our position could have thrown the last game of the season to finish 5th rather than 4th and get the bye. Imagine if the team we were playing needed a point to avoid the drop. I assume that’s why they didn’t announce this until yesterday. They must have known for some time.

Farcical way to run a league.

We do seem to find an incredible number of different bureaucratic ways of not going up from this league!

That is an outrage. How the bill ox do Solihull get the bye to the semi final?  If we’d thrown the Oxford game we’d have the bye to the semi final. To get a bye you have to finish 2nd 3rd or 5th. Nonsense decision.

Chances are will need to beat both Bromley and Barnet, one at their place and one at Wembley. Home advantage possibly bigger for Bromley so go to Barnet and take Bromley in the final?

Probably purely because he was a defender in a team that kept a clean sheet and got man of the match (according to the Pa announcement). To be fair the way he managed the ref throughout the game was exceptional

It shouting at Dorking is not encouraged. There was a sign at the front of the seating area asking us to be considerate of their neighbours and “keep noise to a minimum”😂

4 points will get us 5th and 3 points will get us 6th. No real chance of 4th.
I sincerely hope you're right, Bri, but I'm not sure personally.
Another pertinent question is, given Osborne is on nine bookings, what will we do in midfield if he gets a tenth?
And speaking of bookings, I don't suppose they reset to zero at the end of the main season? It would be nice if they did.

Premier league you have to reach 10 in 32 matches to get a ban. Is there a similar cut off for us?

The most tedious game I’ve seen for a long time. Every time we got the ball they tackled with their arms first, so many pull backs on and off the ball. As a result we couldn’t build any sort of an attack.  It’s the first time I’ve seen the ref call the guy over for a chat point to lots of parts of the pitch and then not book the guy either then or for any of the next three fouls he commits. He was a disgrace and the only surprise was it took so long for one of ours to bite. (Although Kossy did have a couple of little niggly kicks at him)

5 1/2 hours in the car to watch us win some free kicks.  Very frustrated at that referee performance. A few bookings early doors (including osbourne to be fair) would have stamped out some on the cynical fouls and allowed a game of football to breakout.

How was the foul on Newby as we scored the second only a yellow?

The fracas after the first goal was all a bit overblown. Nothing in it for me.

Avoiding defeat tonight means no team can do the double over us in the league this season. When was the last time we managed that? (At this level)

Nothing too violent or malicious. Looks like shoulder to the shoulder/back of the defender but you can’t be doing that off the ball no matter what he said when he turned round between the original contact and linneys response

I’d seen James Jones shoulder injury meant he was out for the season. I think was in a Flynny audio interview somewhere and I think in the interview the physios did with AltyTV a while back. There wasn’t an announcement as such but certainly not the first time it’s been mentioned publicly
