Whats required is a big deal on the back page, Unbeaten with results so far, a league table with us highlighted as SECOND :) and as much 'bigging up' as possible.

Let the people in the area know.

Also something in the METRO \ MEN would be a bonus, I appreciate that is harder but we need to spread the word.

Since they have lost Connor (sports reporter) and decided not to replace him they are relying more and more on the club to feed them with all the info, only problem is they don't necessarily listen to the info they get. I have just sent a batch of photos to them, no doubt either Brain or John will provide a report from the game and latest news, but we can only wait and see what the editor picks to put in.

This is something we need badly, surely with the start the team has had it's not too much to ask for the local rag to give us more exposure.

PS Perhaps they were right all along in my case - I've just submitted my Doctoral Thesis and will be Dr Saughall by Christmas!

Alas, the standard of reporting and design etc. in the Sale & Altrincham Messenger by its own staff these days is embarrassingly abject and enough to make the legendary Mike Crockett spin in his kilt.

Last week's issue even featured a full page advertisement as its back page, thereby totally obscuring the main Sports page.

Mind you, I don't recall it containing any prominent mention of the Alty v Histon game anyhow.
