Title: What would happen if...
Post by: Toff Apple on April 16, 2008, 08:18:54 AM
We were level on points with Northwich  and had the same goal difference?

They'd be relegated on double alphabetical order:
1.  Alty comes before Northwich, and
2. Supers comes before T**ts

In the event of the goal difference being equal the highest placed Club shall be the Club which has scored the most goals.

League table placings are normally decided by :-

1. Highest number of points, if level, then
2. Highest goal difference, then
3. Most goals scored, then
4. Aggregate result between teams, then
5. Toss of a coin.

I might be wrong on this, maybe somebody can check..........and yes I am serious on the toss of a coin. It is extremely unlikely though that matters are unresolved by the time stage 3 is reached.

Not too long ago, stage 3 was decided by the highest 'goal average' i.e goals scored divided by goals conceded

Would an official at the FA toss the coin. Some of them are tossers!

I'd rather they didn't, purely because I love the Boxing Day/New Years Day games, Halifax doesn't seem to offer that much appeal and even that looks like a foregone conclusion.

Can you imagine us all on here waiting for the toss of a coin?

People saying it was defo going to heads....othes  defo tails.  Sneaky rumours that Northwich had a two headed coin.....

And of course someone blaming GH for not kissing the coin before the toss and therefore getting tactics wrong ......... As soon as GH called Tails the whole of Altrincham saying at once "Its going be bloody heads"
