I recall Horwich RMI making three visits to Moss Lane in cup competitions, however, I'm not sure that we ever played a first team game at their old home ground.

I think that we sent our Lancashire League reserve side to play a pre-season friendly there back in August 1979.

An obscure mid-season friendly:

5th January 1991: Horwich RMI 2  Altrincham 2.

Two months later, we beat them 5-0 at Moss Lane in an FA Trophy Quarter-Final.

I went to a pre season friendly at Horwich in 1978.  We put out our reserves and got beat 4-1
