Leytonstone and ilford, Green Pond Road I think
Massive it was

I went to that game but don't remember the ground being esp. big.  Any idea what the capacity was and the gate when we played them?

My memory for this stuff is awful, I simply remember it being a big old bowl of a place with virtually nobody there, and Wooly and I sat on a big lump of terracing on our own and watched the game from there.

Record attendance 21,708 for Olympic football 1948!

Leytonstone and ilford......I remember 2 sides being very narrow and tight and then this behind one goal;

and this high side terrace against the railway embankment with a stand on top;

The official attendance when Alty played at Leytonstone & Ilford was 703.

Not much of a game, as I recall.

We won 1-0 courtesy of a John Rogers header inside the opening five minutes.

Newport County, not Somerton Park as the game was postponed and then never took place as they went bust, but the running track they played at until just last year

Bromsgrove Rovers

I think that ground still exists, although the club has reformed.
