I will be arriving at 10.45am.

Just for kicks.

I can guarantee that by the end of the season you will want to throttle him.

 ;)

That's brilliant!

A couple of us are coming to the game from York on Saturday so I might print that out and do it!

Altrincham FC First Team / Xmas Drinks?

York City v Altrincham, 28th December.

Hope you are coming across for a bit of a festive session, they've bloody well sent us to Alty on a Tuesday night which is one of many insults on our fixture list.

Well done James........but you have to admit that your first prediction was that there would be no Yorkshire clubs in BSP until somebody pointed out that YORK would in fact be staying up

To be fair it was a close call, we were only TWENTY-ONE points off relegation.

To be fair it's not just Alty fans who were laughing their tits off all week about Torquay blowing it.

Altrincham FC First Team / My Square
« on: May 07, 2008, 09:13:56 PM »
As a participant in this season's My Square thingy, which I entered because I thought you had been relegated to Conference North and so wanted to offer some support, will there be a chance to renew again next season? Is this happening again?

Seeing as you've been relegated again I thought I would offer my support to you for another season by sponsoring a corner of the Moss Lane pitch.

It's good this relegation lark, I suppose if you ever DO go down I'll have to pay double?

Spoke to a couple of mates who follow Garforth when I went to Selby Town yesterday. They said when they played FCUM last weekend they were an absolute bunch of arseholes looking for trouble from start to finish, and that the overwhelming majority were some of the most unpleasant people they have ever experienced in non-league football. They said they "hoped they beat Skem" so that "they wouldn't have to play them next season" which sounds like fair comment considering some of the scuffling and arrests that were made at the game between the two.

Altrincham FC First Team / Good Luck
« on: April 25, 2008, 03:27:22 PM »
I think I speak for quite a few people here in York when I say a big "good luck" for tomorrow's trip to Weymouth.

We are just down the road at Salisbury and will be wishing you well.

Whatever happens between now and when the next season kicks off in August, all the best for the future.

Does that mean we can send Stafford down tomorrow night?

Ha ha, great! A chance to banish clogging anti-football into some feeder league where it belongs!

Having been to Crawley to see us massacred 6-1 yesterday, it could have been us with relegation worries playing as gutlessly badly as that.

"I am carrying out an investigation into the recent introduction of Setanta into televised league football"

Then the first thing you will discover in your "investigation" will be on the very first page - Setanta don't televise English league football.

I've just read this whole thread and it's certainly been a good read, very interesting.

As an outsider whose path has crossed with you only for a few seasons now in the league I think you have something really good going on at Altrincham. You make people feel welcome, both home and away fans, you don't have any idiots to spoil peoples' enjoyment of the game, you've got a decent ground where you can actually see what's happening on the pitch, you charge sensible money to get in, you've got a good matchday programme, you've got approachable directors and club officials who care about the club and will happily stand and chat to people and listen to their views, and all in all it's the best away day in my opinion in the Conference.

I suppose to a lot of you, you have stopped even noticing all of those things because it's your club and it becomes the norm. But as a visiting supporter I cannot fail to be impressed with your club and, for a change this season, you've done the business against us on the pitch too.

I think I speak for a lot of people at other clubs in the Conference when I say that I hope to be visiting Moss Lane again next year and welcoming your supporters here in York for another noisy, boozy and boisterous evening!

To be fair SW such arrogance is the sign of a small club like Torquay rather than a club like Exeter or York and other former Football League teams. It's like the difference between someone genuinely middle class who happens to be well educated and have money and culture, and someone who wears bling and lives in a house with the rottweiler in Essex who reads the Daily Mail and moans about "scroungers".

If you have faith in your own club then you don't need to turn your nose up at others.

When we beat them in the Trophy semi-finals, you are most welcome to come and join us at Wembley!!!!
