Altrincham FC First Team / It runs in Jack's family,....

Jacks cousin Charlene runs for England and is highly rated prospect for the olympics this summer. Another great Redshaw to support ;D ;D ;D

I am trying to ignore the hysterics on here from some fans and would ask everyone to calmly analyse the situation. My view (which I have no doubt some will disagree with) goes like this.
1. After 6 years of BSP struggle I wanted to see us build a new team. I knew it would take time and I expected mid-table this year and would have been very happy with 5th. We are now 6pts off 5th with game in hand,.. admittedly going the wrong way at present.
2. I wanted a new manager who got us playing more passing/attacking football and who was looking longer term. Yes box ticked.
3. To do this would mean finding more quality players who we could afford. Do we have enough quality at present, some plusses and minuses
4. Are we still solvent as a club and within our limited budget, Yes.
5. Is the football standard in BSN better than we expected,..Yes a lot better in my view, which is where expectations start to be affected.

Putting things into perspective, I think perhaps we all got carried away by a few big wins, confidence built up and we all thought here we go,...sadly, the realisation is that it is going to be harder than some thought. I actually dont think Lee ever had any illusions. He has done nothing yet to disillusion me like some on here. It's all about getting quality players and getting them to perform consistently. Currently, thats a fail. When we win a couple of games again, and we will, the mood will change. For heaven sake give Lee and his team our full support. They are trying.

Altrincham FC First Team / Crowther goes,....

.....from Hyde to Fleetwood. Looks like Hughsey's predictions about Hyde losing some of their better players has come true! But I see they have had 5 clean sheets in a row which is something we couldnt do!

It happened again today. Can Brian or John shed any light on why errors made in the heat of battle are not corrected afterwards, I am sure they would at Premier league level in a matter of hours. Reevesy now has 15 league goals.

Altrincham FC First Team / New few games will be interesting,....
« on: August 23, 2011, 11:03:47 AM »
An away win would be really useful tonight at Vauxhall, as the next 3 games after this one are Hyde (A), Guiseley (H) and Gloucester (A) all of whom have made good starts to the season.

So 3 out of the next 4 are away. We will surely have a much better idea of how we compare with the others after these games.

Come on you Robins......

Altrincham FC First Team / Alty Director quits,.....
« on: June 12, 2011, 04:01:50 PM »
Director walks away from the Conference

Altrincham director Andrew Shaw has departed the Board of the Football Conference in dramatic fashion.

While others enjoyed a round of golf at the Celtic Manor on Friday, Andrew decided to don his walking boots and made his way along the disused Monmouthshire and Brecon canal on the outskirts of Newport, pounding out well over 15 miles to raise money for Level Playing Field (National Association of Disabled Supporters).

The Football Conference has long been a great supporter of the charity which does so much for those less fortunate than most and among their aims they aid attendance at non league level matches. Usually donations to the charity from the Conference comes from funds held by the Conference itself, so on this occasion Andy thought he would literally go that extra mile and seek individual sponsorship from other members of the Board.

In total he reported back to his colleagues that his efforts raised in excess of £500 which will be passed on shortly to the charity.

Andrew has served as one of the representatives for the Premier Division on the main Board of the Conference, through his role as a director of Altrincham FC, for a number of years but at this years AGM had to reluctantly stand down due to his clubs' relegation into the Conference North.

His expertise and experience will not be lost however due to being selected to serve on the FA Council to look after the interest of the 68 member clubs.

Good to have such an excellent guy as part of the team running Alty FC isnt it ;D

I think, Hayes, Kettering, Braintree and Barrow(or Rushden if they survive AGM cup).
