Can somebody please post the code to join?

I'm unable to renew automatically as the email account I'd been using has been closed due to hacking.

Would it be possible to add bacon barms to our menus, or is this not possible cost wise or time wise?

Sorry Steve - very unlikely - a couple of us have a sausage barm at 10 ish on a Matchday whilst we’re setting up, and bacon barns are done for tournaments until 11am, but like McDonald’s- we change to lunch menu after 11. Stick to the burgers 🍔 😂

How about a nice bit if Scottish square sausage served in a burger bun?

Not a patch on a proper British banger!
lincs or square

Links of course.
The square is an abomination to sausages!

Lorne sausage is one of the best parts of a full Scottish breakfast, with tattie scones, and both black and white pudding. A portion of haggis doesn't go amiss. Who needs lunch?

And on the subject of OUR catering, Wright's pies are generally awful. No wonder we have to hawk them round the ground at a quid a pop.

A further perspective on the strength of the NEC Nijmegen side came at The Den this afternoon. Fortuna Sittard, who finished 3 points behind them last season, beat Millwall 2-1. Duncan Watmore played the first 84 minutes.

I did express the view earlier in this thread that NEC would probably hold their own in the Championship - seems I may not have been wrong.

I think it’s best we now leave the lad to settle in at Cork, no need to analyse his every game.

I've only analysed one game Ray. I believe the lad has made a massive error in going to a struggling club, and if the aim is to give him confidence it's going to be a big ask.

Beaten on his near post while stuck on his line for the first one. Didn't cover himself with glory on the second either. Three shots on target, two goals conceded. Not good.

Cork have thrown him straight in tonight at home to Shelburne.

I wasn't there, but got the impression from RR that George Wilson had a decent game. PP originally said he'd be going out on loan, but I'm getting the impression that he's being seen as a starter.

Could this be the only friendly I can remember where I care about the result? 🤔

I don't even care about the result. We won't send many first teamers into sheep country anyway.

Altrincham FC First Team / Pre-season Friendlies
« on: July 22, 2023, 04:05:01 PM »
I was always under the impression that we weren't allowed, under some obscure legislation, to play a pre-season friendly against a club from our own league. Yet this afternoon AFC Fylde have entertained FC Halifax (but possibly not the crowd since it finished 0-0).

Have I just imagined this "rule"?

If Nijmegen played there first team than around a four goal loss is what I expected. I would imagine they are a mid table championship outfit or there abouts

A bit of research bears out that they fielded many of the players who featured in their mid-table Eredivisie campaign last season (though notably they fielded a young keeper).

Listening on RR, we seemed to be second best, but Nijmegen would probably finish in mid-table in the Championship, so we certainly weren't disgraced.

So how do we think tonight will go?
I'm going for a strong side (at least in the first half) and a narrow victory.
Come on you Robins 👍 🇦🇹

With that sort of forecast, I hope you've entered the new Alty Predictor competition!

Won 1-0 with a first half Donawa goal - strong starting XI.

You win leagues on consistency; not brilliance.

Absolutely 100% correct.
