Any instability at our main rivals can only be welcomed. ;D

Glossop away please

+1
I like the sound of that too, but I think a few Midlands clubs which were not included in the original list, such as Coalville, Grantham, Kidderminster, Nuneaton and Stourbridge, and maybe even Mildenhall, will be included in the northern half.

Even they'll get a new chairman before us.  :D
As long as we don't get their old one. Now there's a nasty bent bastard.

I will second that.  I have a couple of weird connections, as the house on Northenden Road, Sale, where Owen Oyston carried out many of his offences was where my mother had lived several years earlier, and then, when he was arrested and in the cells in Old Trafford police station, a family member of someone I knew ended up sharing a cell with him. Choosing my words very carefully, Oyston was suspected of worse crimes than those for which he was convicted.

While he may have his faults, Grahame Rowley is really not the worst recent chairman of a football club in the north west, believe me.

Also agree with Turd about the crowd, while I expect Jordan Hulme to be up for it, just like Messrs Brownhill and Heathcote, against his local and former club.

So, Altrincham 3 Ramsbottom United 2 att. 601.

Incidentally, a few user names have caught someone's interest on the Rammy forum. Mind you, they also expect a crowd of over 1000, based on the Buxton attendance, to be in the next round and to have one of their fans bringing a drum on the tram. Hmm.

I'd agree with most of that, but felt like it was a point gained at the end of the game. Although Jordan Hulme should have scored, Tony Thompson, had to work very hard and definitely deserved the man of the match award. Buxton, with a lot of experienced players, were much better than I was expecting.

The unbeaten run goes on and we remain top...

What’s more bizarre is certain sections of social media are insisting the FA Cup draw is taking place at victory park Chorley on Monday

That would seem more logical as there is a game there Monday night.

There is a club statement promised for later tonight. Let's hope that club statement can clear things up.

2-1 Alty...
Att. 693

It will be good to see Greg Young back at Moss Lane..

Am I right in saying Young won't be involved?  He was sent off last week.

Ok your probably correct..

Actually he was sent off on Tuesday against Rushall, so, as suspensions take seven days, to kick in, I believe he can still play against us. Not sure if that is good or bad...

Is this now an expense that we would have done without, knowing the Shaw Lane game is called off? I suspect this game was a big factor in a loan signing being brought in with it being an important game.

We should send NPL the bill for his wages!

I think that is a very good point.

It would be good and, indeed vital, to know just who is responsible for the game being called off before the original cup tie has even been played, which is a farce.
We have had plenty such rearrangements in the National League before, don't forget, but I would hope we can press for the game to be played on a Saturday. After all, the NPL say they try to arrang attractive games for Saturdays to maximise attendances.

Good luck to JJ should a full time club come in for him, as long as they loan him back for the remainder of this season.

I agree, but it has happened before. Crewe Alexandra signed him from Leek Town in the season when he played so well against us, and then loaned him back to Leek. In the end, it didn't quite work out at Crewe, but he is playing below his natural level.

Very sad news for a player who was a fixture in the side for several seasons.

Condolences to his family and friends.

We sat in the small stand out of the rain and wind, that was more than half full of Alty supporters. I reckon we had at least half the crowd yesterday but were in 3 main pockets because of the awful conditions.

I felt as most, we lacked a plan B and PP was happy with a point, whereas with a bit more tactical changes we could have pushed more for 3 points. I was bemused not to see Dens on at one point in either  fb positions, also why not Peers? No Miller either on the bench.

I thought the substitution of Walsh was bizarre as not sure of his pedigree and where he came from. surely more established players should have been coming on?

Not sure why he is now up North but he came through Bournemouth's youth system and has played at several Southern Non League sides such as Salisbury,Welling and Aylesbury.

Salisbury said in January that he had to leave the club as he was moving north because of his work. However, he was playing for New Orleans Jesters (strangely enough, one of Jordan Hulme's previous clubs) in the summer!

Last away League meeting - Sept 9 1978, drew 1-1
Last away Cup meeting - April 19 1979, NPL Cup SF 2nd Leg, lost 1-5 (aggregate 6-9)
Last 'competitive' away match - Sept 24 1979, NPL Challenge Shield, won 4-2 (if you count champs v runners-up match as competitive)
Last competitive meeting anywhere - Sept 30 2000, FA Cup 2nd Qual Rd, lost at home 0-2
The original fixture list scheduled this round for the week commencing Nov 27th, but that could prove to be a moveable feast given the way this league 'organises' its fixtures ...

A few memorable games there, Mike.

I'm fairly sure that the FA cup defeat was 0-3......Danny Murphy tore us apart & we signed him about 2 weeks later.

Didn't

Yes, Mossley's rather good website confirms it was 0-3 with Dicken, Burns and Garside the scorers. I think Danny Murphy signed for us while Mossley's cup run was still ongoing.

Peter Band is manager there of course, and he was still playing until fairly recently in 2013-14.

Any players unable to go full time we could approach?

I doubt there'd be any willing to drop two divisions.

Plus, they seem to be trying to keep the part-time players on board in the short term.
