Any memories/anecdotes concerning the aforementioned game would be most welcome.

Second-placed Kettering took the lead via a John King own goal.

Graham Heathcote equalised in the second half via the penalty spot (the home side were not best pleased with the referee's decision!).

John Rogers's heavily deflected shot won the match for Alty with three minutes to go.

The attendance was an impressive 2,867 (unsegregated).   

Alty went to the top of the APL as a result of this victory.
 

**** I need to email the completed article to Grahame Rowley on Sunday, 20th September 2009, so please post/email your recollections of the occasion/match ASAP!
