Runcorn away, December 26th 1998.

He kicked it out of his hands, it bounced once and over the keeper's head into the net. We went top of the Unibond League that day too.

Maybe I'm wrong then.  :)

I think you're right about him saving a pen in the same game.

kicked out of his hands, strong wind bounced once on the edge of the 18 yrd box, keeper had come out but then realised he couldnt catch it with it being outside the area so turned round tried to race back to tip it over the bar, didn't make it..we are top of the league we are top of the league.

We went top of the Unibond League that day too.

Wasn't our ascent to the top of the Unibond assisted by Gainsborough Trinity beating Worksop Town on that same day?

Thank the Lord those days of being concerned about Gainsborough's results are behind us (hopefully, for eternity....).

You are right because I remember phoning Gainsborough's ground during the second half to find out the score.   :)

He kicked the ball out of his hands and with one bounce it went over the stranded Mark Morris who looked with resignation as he stood thirty yards out  :P in the Runcorn goal,  ;DStuart also also saved a Danny Salt penalty, an eventful day 3-0 I think ?

He certainly did save a penalty - I think given away by him?

In my recollection their keeper got a hand to Coburn's goal-bound ball to try and tip it over the bar as it went in over his head.
