I always did say that Dale, firing on all cylinders, was as a class act. But I agree with Ray that he didn't always bother to do that. H e should have been playing in the League but didn't have the desire needed.

I found him damn frustrating to watch.  It was all there inside, just sometimes I got the impression he wasn't bothered.  Perhaps he was bothered, but the impression he gave me was that he wasn't. Infuriating!

Dale tends to drift in and out of games which is a problem as he isn't an out and out goalscorer. I put it down to lack of concentration rather than application to be honest. If he'd shown more of the former he wouldn't have played at / around our level for so long - he's clearly got the talent to play much higher. Has been very unlucky with injuries too.
