With the startling exception of the contact in that article thinks the Cheshire Midland is the best pub in Hale (the railway next door is far better), a very good exposition.

I know plenty of people love Sam Smiths because of the price.

However, does anyone else think that the beer is awful?

Far from my favourite, but passable. Better than a choice between Carling, Stella, Fosters and Tetleys.

Old Market Tavern is the way to go in Alty, no doubt.
