Ridiculous as it sounds the draw for the First Qualifying Round (to be played Sept 3) is now taking shape. We come in at the next stage (2QR, Sept 17th) so could in theory get any of the following, some of which would be proper banana skins -
Washington v Shildon; Ashton United v Nantwich; Brighouse Town v Lancaster; Blyth v Frickley; Hyde v Colne; Bishop Auckland v Ossett Albion; Whitby v Winsford; Sheffield v Farsley; Marske United v Marine; Newcastle Benfield v Bridlington; Morpeth v Colwyn Bay; Harrogate Railway Athletic v Consett; Dunston v Skelmersdale; Ashton Athletic v Mossley; Squires Gate v Handsworth Parramore; Witton v Buxton; Billingham Synthonia v Ossett Town; Pontefract Collieries v Tadcaster Albion; Burscough v Maine Road; Trafford v Cheadle Town (who beat Vics in the Prelim Round today - what a shame!); Workington v Warrington; Radcliffe v Spennymoor; Leek v Kettering; Hednesford v Belper; King's Lynn v Brigg; AFC Mansfield v Stratford; Rushall v Soham; Matlock v Heanor; Chasetown v Grantham; Evesham v Barwell; Peterborough Sports v Stourbridge; Ashby Ivanhoe v Ilkeston; Lincoln United v Dunkirk; Mickleover v Spalding.
Some of the more southern ones are perhaps unlikely, but if they can put Morpeth & Colwyn Bay together in the 1QR anything is possible, I suppose ...
We'd also have a string of potential opposition from our own league, of course.
Just thought I'd make folk feel really happy ...

Banana skins?

I think we'd be a banana skin for most of those!

We're a banana skin for ourselves these days.

Plenty of other old foes / Conference National hasbeens in that round : R&D, Droylsden, Farsley, Lewes, Salisbury, Hererford, Scarborough, Hyde, Vics
