Maybe a CCTV monitor could be rigged up at the front of the stand to show the missing action.

People like that can cause the club to be fined, Great shot of the
Stewards doing nothing whilst having a smoke.
This was the second time he had been on the pitch.

Calm down Darren, just a bit of harmless fun. Obviously in a league/ cup game it'd be Inappropriate but the lad has made the club get recognised at national level. All publicity is good publicity as they say

I wouldn't imagine that GMP or the Licensing Authority would be so inclined to consider it "harmless fun"

Is it "harmless fun" like the flares and smoke bombs? "Harmless fun" like thirty or forty boozed up Grimsby fans coming into Golf Road to say hello?

We are now in a National League and have to ensure that certain minimum standards are maintained - having some little galoot running on the pitch is NOT maintaining the minimum standard I'm afraid.

Would it have been "harmless fun" if he'd assaulted the Wigan Player????

He said something to him as the lad ran back into the group of Wigan supporters behind the goal

We can say in hindsight and what if with a lot of things, on this occasion it was harmless. Just out of interest what precautions would you consider that would stop that happening? At the end of the day there's a line where a person needs to take responsibility for their actions. Smoking or not the steward is still a volunteer, I doubt it'd have looked good on the club if the video showed him being launched out the ground.

The large gap in the hoardings probably doesn't help

The lad in question is a 13yr old Alty fan and he was ejected from the ground after the incident. I got the information off my daughter who goes to school with his sister.

I'm going to give him full custody of the teaser flag after this stunt
