Who on earth thought that? ;)

That it would help the England football team if their were fewer foreigners in the premier league.

That Stoke are a dirty team (far fewer cards than Arsenal).

Ryan Giggs could have played for England.

It's the biggest myth in football. he was born in Wales as were his parents and grandparents. He did however play for England school boys but that was because he went to school in England.

Getting far fewer cards than Arsenal does not preclude you from being a dirty team!

It's a game of two halves - no it isn't it's a game of two parts, the second part is invariably slightly longer than the first part

Crawley Town are a plucky non-league club overachieving despite living within their means.

As I answered the question correctly when I appeared on Mastermind a few years ago, I can confirm that it was actually Raphael Ravenscroft.

Football Myth : Accrington Stanley as "the club that wouldn't die". Where were they between 1961 and 1968 we ask ?

I belioeve the Baker Street myth was started by Stuart Maconie in an article he had in NME. Each issue he would give out a totally incorrect fact and, for some reason, the Bob Holness/Baker Street one caught on.

Granted, but I do take exception to the media portrayal of the premier league being 19 teams of diving foreigners and one group of bouncers gathered from a pub in the rough part of town.

the premier league is the best league in the world therefore England should be the best national team at tournaments......it's not like there are foreign players playing in the league making average english players look good at all
